Applying is very easy- one phone call is enough to get a route if there are routes available, and if there aren't any you can be put on a waiting list. Papers get delivered right to your door and the job itself is straightforward- deliver newspapers to peoples' homes weekly. A massive downside is how little pay you get (well below minimum wage) and that there are zero perks for being a long time courier- I've been delivering for many years and haven't gotten anything special let alone a pay raise.  Another thing that has made me particularly annoyed with the job is that couriers have not been supplied with masks or gloves all throughout the Covid pandemic- we received a little note reminding us to "wash our hands before and after delivery" but nothing other than that.
All in all, if someone wants a little extra cash while doing some exercise or is truly desperate for a bit of income I'd recommend it, but otherwise it just isn't worth the time.

After I got my job as a Tri-city Newspaper delivery guy I was delivering newspapers to my complex two days a week. Rain or shine. I did this with as much effort as I could, I would walk up and down stairs safely delivering papers to others. When I was told I was being let off, I was disappointed because other newspaper delivery people were not. This was because the NOW and the Tri-city news joined up and let half of the paper people off.

Most days I'd get papers delivered in the morning and I'd finish them in the afternoon after-school. Every month or so, there would be different flyers or catalogs I'd have to deliver alongside the papers. I learned problem solving skills and endurance.

After choosing a route that suits you the papers are delivered, every Wednesday and Friday. The average route is ~60 papers, this takes about an hour or less to deliver which is good as they must be all delivered by 6:30pm that day (Wednesday or Friday).

For the several years that I did it, the job was way more work than they paid. I was getting about $5 for an hour of work sometimes more depending if they gave you large amounts of flyers. It's not a fun job but definitely good for anyone starting out and trying to learn the meaning of hard work.

Upon arrival of newspaper packages and flyers I manually placed advertisements inside each newspaper then delivered to over 100 houses across my neighbourhood. Shifts were 4 times a week and hours were flexible as they needed to be delivered before 6pm.

Delivered newspaper diligently and was a fairly good job. Required a lot of walking up and down the roads biweekly. Learned that earning money as a kid is very hard and that you can do a lot with a dollar, I realized that nothing in life is easy.

I worked my own hours and didn't need to report to anyone. Its a great first or side job. I worked around my neighborhood and didn't have to commute to anywhere. Only worked two to three days a week for 10 to 20 minutes.

I really liked working there, it was lots of fun hours delivering the News Papers. I also learned there that you have to work for what you want in life and to earn money for yourself and others.

it is a OK starting job but i really dont recommend it because you never get a raise and some people complain every single week and the papers come late half the time
