Well, I would make sure you have a car, or live across the street from the base. This was the easiest job I ever had. Waiting around was the hardest part. They are good to educate, and there is room for growth. However Trican claims that there is no such thing as a stupid question, and that saftey is first...I don't agree...when people are in a rush to get home, that's when you get hurt. There is a huge difference between a supervisor who teaches constructively, and one who just want the white hat so he can be a (fill in blank)..The locals we're way more welcoming then anyone at my old base. Oh and the five days of training, is just a "few" instructors telling you over, and over how the can have you job at anytime..(fill in blank)...Over all the owners, and president's intentions are good..But all is forgotten after green hand school....

Trican was a excellent company to work for , I looked forward to Monday morning. Every day brought something new, never boring, another interesting challenge. Trican was like a big happy family, everyone supported you, many good relationships have been built. Management out side our workplace building was out of our control and decisions were made that were not always in the best interest or profit for the company.   
Safety was number one which was hard to get used because I came from shops that had no safety programs but when your company grows it must be part of your system. Thanks Trican.

At the time I was employed by trican, the pay was based (at least in part) on piece work, so if a person is willing to do their best and work hard, there is the opportunity to make a decent wage. Management was fairly flexible with time off, and there was an opportunity to learn how to run a variety of machinery.  

working with a very good bunch of guys.there is allways something to do.management is there to make sure you are doing your job safely.great bunch of guys there to help you do watever needs to be done.the hardest part of the job is playing in the mud if you are not carefull you can brake stuff and that is never fun. going home to your kids and wife safely

I was very grateful to have worked at Trican. Every manager that I worked with especially the last one were awesome to work for.  Trican looked after me and my family through-out some very tough times.  The work life balance out in the field is not great but once you get used to it everything works out.  Management cares.

I worked at Trican for 4 years as an equipment operator.  A challenging job, I worked pretty hard.  But I learned a lot and earned plenty money.  I travelled to great places, made friends and improved my life.  Thinking back this was my best occupation to date.  

This company is not perfect but it’s an honest place to work.  Recommended.

Administration staff are definitely not considered to be of any value "non revenue staff" "cost more than they contribute" were commo themes.  Some management felt it was their right to make in appropriate gender biased comments.

great core values if they would follow them, they belittle you,suck the life out of you, if you use the open door policy they push you out the door, people from 1-15 years are leaving faster than they are walking in the door,treat employees horrible.

Could use better safety for sand callers, or better equipment. The pay is good and days off are nice also not working Saturdays would be cool. Guys were cool to work with.

They don't care about their employees, lay off everyone the second they can, treat everyone like trash. Don't pay you nearly enough to be away from family or for the amount of hours. Only positive is the benefits are decent.
