Got this job in July 2014. It's a blur of repetitive tasks for the development of a useful skill, and pays bi-weekly, but there are no benefits. 

The majority of work is automotive parts, but we started off inspecting solar panels. And it's okay, I guess, working in pairs--sometimes small groups--though I prefer to work alone. 
They are big and blue and heavy, and you'd better not drop them because they're around $2,000 apiece. Reject parts are to be tagged and segregated from your work space. 

You get better at inspection because it's really repetitive, as I said; However, the first 3 weeks were horrible--I'm short and small-boned, and pretty unfit. So all this bending and twisting, standing for long hours really hurt. Especially my eyes, from the lighting (and fatigue, from working 12hrs every. single. day) 
Eventually my body got used to the pain--and gained some upper body strength (aka muscles!) 

Good news aside, PIC has a tone of "Lead Hands" which destroys their stream of communication, so be prepared to deal with that.

And they'll send you all over the place when the work is little or non-existent at the main warehouse, sometimes as far as Georgetown or Kitchener, which has really poor working conditions, just saying. (Had me working on the solar panels in the dark on makeshift tables, and they didn't have a lunchroom so you had to eat outside)

If they don't send you there, you'll be at other warehouses in Guelph like CamCor, Eston, or PowerCor, etc. I met some weird and wonderful people at PowerCor, good friends I hope to see again in the near future. And on that note, the better you are at Quality Inspection (working quickly and efficiently at finding bad parts) can outshine their employees, meaning job offers for you.

The PIC Group expects you to work 6 days a week and not have a life. I've worked there with hardly any training as a Lead Hand Supervisor. 

First, I was offered the job and they provided me online modules to read on your own time. When you're done working a 10 to 12 hour shift, all you want to do is sleep. You have no time to read the training material. 

If you are planning on advancing and moving up to Management, you better be ready for it because they will work you to the bone and expect you to know everything. They DO NOT properly train you! I was expected to go to their main office to complete the modules and I was literally left alone by myself. 

As a Supevisor, you will be doing most of the work on your own. They expect you to know the facility (plant) itself when you don't where the work is being done. 
They expect you to know where the sorts are and the assembly lines are. They expect you to know the contracts of each job that needs to be done and time constraints are a major issue and they expect you to train the employee's when you don't know where or what is. 

There is NO proper time management with The PIC Group. There is NO Proper training! 

This is not a safe place to work at!

When your (team) shift fails, you get the blame for your teams mistakes. 

They make you feel like incompetent, unworthy, helpless, useless, and it isn't your fault for improper training practices. 

How can you do this job when inspectors expect you to know everything when you don't know yourself with what is when not properly trained. 

When a company is not training you properly, you might want to reconsider about working for them.

I would work in-house or offsite doing a variety of different jobs on automotive parts; from the rims to the airconditioning lines to the cradle and doing the paperwork that was a necessity to be an ISO company. I learned how to be a good leader by watching/listening to my co-workers and determining where they would work best and making sure the job was done ergonomically correct. When I first started there the management was great (jobs were more pleasant to complete), but the last year I was there, the new management, managed to fall apart, making everday unreliable and a chore. The hardest part of the job was keeping up with some of the unrealistic quotas they would enlist and working with disgruntled co-workers. The most enjoyable part of the job was working with great co-workers and travelling (I was the newest employee to be asked to help Windsor, ON, set up their wharehouse and train their new employees; I was the first employee of less than 2 years being there, to be asked to become a lead hand -- but had to turn it down because I did not have a license and, first asked to go to Florida, USA, but did not have an up-to-date passport.)

Working for the PIC Group had a friendly work environment. On a typical day at PIC you had a chance to either work in a team situation or work independently. My co-workers were always there to help out when needed and willing to ask for help with tasks they did not understand. I have learnt that being organized is key in the work force. Knowing that the tools you use are in the correct location, not only was it easier to find the tools, it was easier for quick access when a tool was needed.  The managers of the company were understaning and always willing to take in new ideas on how to improve the tasks at hand. The hardest part of the job was the communication. A text message was used to inform you if you were working that day. No text message meant no work. The days when you were needed to work, you were informed an hour to two hours before the start of the shift. The hours you worked depends on how much parts GM workers needed. Although GM has its slow periods, I enjoyed working for the PIC Group. The company was a great motivator for me to learn new tasks and assignments. The most enjoyable part of the job was the friendly and understanding work environment.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great supervisor input and supervisor understands different people may have different learning curve. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The way the scheduling was done.  It is done in a way you put your days/times of availability in.  The stressful part is because you have no guarantee of consistent shifts, but must be available whenever they may choose to call.  This means you have to constantly check the schedule up until an hour before shift start.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Lots of opportunity to learn new things.  Some supervisors are understanding and patient.  Others are rushed and demanding.  Feels like everyone has a different set of rules, so you aren't sure what to expect.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It's either very busy/stressful and rushed, or very boring with little to do.

My experience working with Trigo was not very positive. The communication from management was often unclear, and schedules would change with little notice, making it hard to plan personal time. Training was minimal, and new employees were sometimes expected to perform tasks without proper guidance. The work environment could be stressful, especially when assigned to client locations with high expectations and poor organization. There was little recognition for hard work, and opportunities for growth or promotion were limited. Pay was average for the industry, but not reflective of the workload or irregular hours, including last-minute overtime. Safety standards were generally followed, but support from supervisors was inconsistent. Overall, Trigo felt like a temporary job rather than a place to build a career. I wouldn’t recommend it to those looking for long-term growth or stability, but it may suit someone needing short-term experience in the quality inspection field.

Interesting work experience with lots of trials. Requiring you to go and do anything with high focus on customer satisfaction. You need to be a self starter and be able to work independently with little supervision for many clients. Do to the nature of the business and how fluid the work environment was management was sometimes lacking and hard to get a response from on the off shifts leaving you with little guidance. Some customers required more service then others and at times there is friction when things don't go their way which you will have to deal with.This gave me an appreciation for sales and management positions.

Carried out Quality Inspection based on the checklist provided, multitasking, strapping, packing, reject and accept good on the basis of quality.
management was good, assigned the work as needed, appreciated the work, salary deposited on time.
co-workers were friendly and coped with the production of goods in maintaining the same pace for work
there was nothing like the hardest part. 
the job in fact was the most enjoyable as we had to work in group of 2, there were 3 breaks timely given for rest.

this Job is a great job but it dose have it's set back for instance it is an on call job witch means the hours are hit and miss but if you stick it out you can be working 5-7 days a week depending on the season or if it factory shut down but all and all you will work with great people fantastic TL's supervisors, pic is just a great Team to work for all a round the pay is not the best but they make up for it in other ways
