Trillium is a manufacturing company that makes pharmaceuticals. With 3 main production areas of liquids, semi solids and solids, for the most part every area was very similar a lot of inspecting products, packaging ect. I worked through an agengy called Manpower. I was on rotation between days and afternoons, when i was on days i would no by lunch time (noon) if i had to work the next day or not, if i was on afternoons i had to wait from 12-1:30 to no if i was working or not. Day shifts were 7-3:30 and afternoon shifts were 3-11:30, half hour lunch was not paid. Sometimes there would also be people needed for midnights, 11-7:30 and 12 hours which were 7-7. I learned how to work as a team and to communicate well with others and that communication is extremely important when working on a team. I also learned how to get into a rythm when working, so could get work done efficiently. Also to ask questions if confused by anything. Management wasn't horrible but it was hard to budget when some weeks I would be working 48 hours and others I would working 4, there was no garenteed hours, and the schedule was day to day. Hardest part was just juggling the schedule, and not knowing when to do things in life outside of work. The most enjoyable thing for me was talking to the other people there through the agency and hearing there stories and getting to know there routine and how they liked to operate, so would could work as a more effiecent team.

A typical day as an accounting clerk at Trillium Health Care Products was filled with stress, confusion, and lack of direction. The company is in poor financial shape, which directly affects the accounting department—deadlines are unrealistic, systems are outdated, and there is little to no support from management.
I learned how to cope with a chaotic work environment, but not because of structured training or leadership—just out of necessity. Management was disorganized and often unavailable, and the promises made during hiring (like paid overtime) were not honored.
The workplace culture was negative, with no real investment in employee well-being. Benefits were basic and far from competitive.
The hardest part of the job was working with unclear expectations in a financially unstable company that constantly shifted priorities. The most enjoyable part? Honestly, finishing the day.

I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a stable, supportive, or fair work environment.

If you don't have a job and looking for one it might be an ok place just to start working and keep searching for a better job.

Do not switch from your current employers to this one. There is no concept of a career in this company. The top management just cares about their own benefits/bonuses whatsoever. They often run their own side businesses. They are not loyal to the company either.

There is no employee support. There are two types of employees 1) who are lazy, relaxed, and don't work. 2) who are overloaded with work with very stressful life.

The compensation packages are awful. They would promise you salary raise and then would never fulfill the promise. They would offer very low wages and wonder why people leave the company or don't wanna join at all. 

In a single word, it's a cheap company for work for.

New CEO has some weird ideas. When he came here he announced we were top heavy and got rid of all kinds of managers. 2 years later we have more managers, VPs, directors etc. than we ever had. They announced they are moving everyone to shiftwork. Trillium has become a sad place for the average worker. If you are not a yes man/woman and question anything they get rid of you. Its a toxic work environment. HR is almost non existent at least they have a good group in payroll. 

How they do things here is all backward. Big expansion job being designed on the fly. Changes to production schedules sometimes hourly.

Maintenance seems to have a great group always willing to help. Some equipment belongs in a museum. 

Upper management needs to listen to the workers. 

a typical work day for me was the key contact person for all incoming calls to the facility, assist multiple departments complete daily tasks and job functions, e.g. complete training documents, open and sort daily mail, assist HR/Payroll with timesheets. Set up meetings and reserve boardrooms for these meetings, set up catering when required.  Greet visitors coming in to facility.  Key contact for all logbooks thru out facility, assembling, issuing, returning and logging into database.
Learned how to organize my time and tasks to be completely efficiently and on a timely basis to meet managers/employees needs.
Co-workers are all very enjoyable to work with.
I enjoyed everything about my job.

Work was a 12 hours shift that rotates every couple days with a couple days off every week. Unless you manage to get on a strictly day or night shift you will either have no life or no sleep. The work was relatively easy loading plastic containers for over the counter medicine into machines, checking for bad products, fixing jams, cleaning equipment and packing products. If you're a temp you only make minimum wage but full- time employees make about twice that. Getting a permanent contract can be difficult though.

The day12 hour shifts were perfect until management decided to screw us all over

Senior leaders play favourites and hard working people are overlooked.  There is very poor morale and no appreciation 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very clickly. It’s like being in high school 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Good when things are running otherwise very mundane

Management will tell you everyone will be rotating from bench to media preparation.  There will be no training plan set out and no time for training. Employees will be anxious to train you on ONLY media preparation and nothing else.  You will autoclave garage forever.  This is a small company with small town mentality and lots of negative gossip.  The supervisor will yell, curse, swear and bad mouth everyone.

The employees in the company are rude and the Manager/ Supervisors don't look into situations or lies. If someone's (that isn't new) says anything just because they don't like you, youll end up let go. 

Theyll give you a raise and deny approval of raise until "it's looked into" as well. Then fire you without cause. 

Would not even recommend it, It's a CRO, Favoritism at the next level, GMP and GLP are a joke, and Outdated systems whether it be HPLC's or other analytical instrumentation.
