True-Blue-Swim-School

I was very excited to work at True Blue and thought that I was going to be getting the job. I completed 4 interviews with various members of the company and also did my in-person swim interview (which is supposed to be the last step in the hiring process). After every interview, I was told that I had done a great job and they would ask me back to complete the next interview process step. After my forth and final in-person interview, I was told by both the person conducting my interview, as well as the staff at the front desk at the location I was interviewing at, that I would be contacted regardless of if I received the job or not, within a week. I unfortunately never heard back, even after sending out numerous emails being sent to the management team regarding my position within the application process. I was completely ghosted. Very disappointing.

The job is very rewarding at the beginning, but stay long enough and the toxic, forced positivity will show through. Management does not support staff whatsoever and will side with customers regardless of the situation even when staff is verbally abused. They do not support staff, but will lecture about their “company values” that they themselves do not follow. Management changes the policies weekly, and staff are not informed until they are reprimanded for their actions. Prepare to come in to work each day completely blind because each shift goes differently and management changed rules and policies as they see fit. 

The job is rewarding in the sense you get to teach kids of all ages valuable skills both in the pool and in life. The rewarding nature of the job is undermined by a lack of loyalty and communication by the management staff. 

Management will side with customers regardless of the situation and frequently throws its staff under the bus the save face. Policies are not communicated and punishment is given out regardless of whether the situation has been touched on in meetings. 

I had gone through their whole interview process which they say they don’t let everyone through. I came in for an in water interview where i was shadowing a teacher. I was told i would be showed how to teach the kids but wasn’t provided with the proper information. I was then told by management i would get a call from them if I got the job or not and they never reached out after many emails. I understood i didn’t get the job but the lack of professionalism was very disappointing.

It is fast-paced and can be stressful but I have never been treated with such respect in the workplace. The management went far and beyond in building a proper community. Staff events are worth going to don't brush them off!

Super rewarding place to work especially if you enjoy the water and teaching kids. Can be a physically demanding job as well as training takes a bit (but it is paid) Have to work one day on the weekends which can be hard to make plans around. 

It’s usually the same thing each day, the only thing that really changes is the behaviour of the children and the feed back you get at the end of the day.
