Checking off the delivery, setting up the venue, preparing food for the day, seating guests and attending to their needs such as more wine on the tables, give the guests their food and clear after each meal, clear and take down a table if necessary for the dance floor, clear the venue towards the end of the evening. 
I have learned how to manage time efficiently to ensure that all jobs are done, my communication and listening skills have improved vastly due to the job.
Excellent management, always one head waitress which is usually myself, at the start of everyday we get told information about the wedding and new people are showed how to lay up the venue and how to present food and clear the tables after each meal. 
The hardest part of the job is between giving the guests their dinner and preparing dessert, whilst checking the room to see if they have finished their dinner, clearing dinner then straight away giving the guests their dessert. 
The most enjoyable part of the job is seeing the Bride and Groom have the best day knowing that we have helped this by keeping a high standard.

Worked here on call for very few shifts, and have worked in the industry for over 4 years and was treated very poorly by on site managers to the point I actually had to walk off shift early, not only were there two fellow staff members degrading and berating the rest of the staff, but the manager was not addressing it. Overall not a good team environment and no room for advancement. I was hired with the promise of bar tending, yet was given zero bar tending shifts and was told there are too many bartenders as is. You might want to join a moving company instead as a majority of this job is packing and unpacking the truck. Will never work for them again and not recommend truffles to anyone for a place to work. Not all employees were bad, but they couldn’t make up for how rude and disrespectful certain ones were.

Catering is usually chaotic and mismanaged so it is a relief to find Truffles which is well run, organized and well staffed.  That is truly all you need to know to want to work here.  As an OSM you touch base with the Event Planners so that you know the ins and outs of your event.  You arrive to find your truck packed.  You drive to the event, meet your servers, setup the event and execute it.  The overall organization of the company supports your ability to execute the event well.  Are there hiccups and things missed?  Sometimes sure - that is the nature of the beast.  But these occur significantly less than other companies in the region.  The trade off is a more corporate structure to the workplace.

Every shift is different. From catering weddings in castles or multi million dollar mansions, to catering a staff party at a car dealership, or on 5 acres of ocean view property. Management is great, they are all very kind and easy to get along with, and same goes for the staff. We all work together as a team. The hardest part of the job is that there is rarely any breaks just because you are so busy the whole time. The most enjoyable part of the job is all the different locations we get to go to. Places you didn't know existed or would just never go to.

The Truffles Group of Companies is an all-around employer of choice.  I was employed by both Truffles Catering and Cascadia Liquor stores, and their established contracts allowed me to work in some of the best locations Southern Vancouver Island has to offer, from the Royal BC Museum, Royal Roads University, to smaller individual island destinations.  All the businesses in the group are environmentally conscious, and both Management and Owners are folks of the highest quality.  Highly recommended for students, part-timers, and those who like to KEEP BUSY.

Initially took this position because they were so flexible and it was great for extra money.

Hours are very long, and the management had loads of turnover and communication isses.

Pays less than competitors in the area.

Was told that shifts were assigned but you were able to accept them. Many shifts I decline or did not accept were assigned to me. This was literally the only reason I wanted to do the job, so I left,

I really enjoyed my time at Truffles. The job I had was pretty structured and after I felt trained I was able to excel. The training supervisor was kind and personable and the managers where open and flexible. If i made a mistake they where supportive. The cooks where a great bunch of people.  I recommend working for the great company.

i enjoyed my time at truffles, evreything is usually ran smoothly can be frustrating and chaotic at times just like any other job. hardest part of the job was the uncertainty of when your shift would really end, may end early or later than scheduled.
