Truspace is a great company for people brand-new to the industry. They understand that mistakes will happen, and everyone on the team will reach out to help when someone is confused or struggling.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I started my first day. I was quickly shown around and introduced to everyone in the office, and then put right to work - something they made sure to warn me about in the interview. Even with the immediate dive into projects, I was able to meet several people that I would get to know better in the coming months.

There's a trust that Truspace has for their employees that I've never found elsewhere. You are expected to get your work done (which is easy enough to track, as we are project-based) but how you accomplish your tasks is entirely up to you. Working remotely is an option for some, and being connected to CDI means that acquiring functional furniture that helps with productivity is something the company is always happy to provide.

Truspace values work/life balance, and encourages employees to use their vacation days and to disconnect from the office on holidays and weekends. There are staff activities throughout the year, and employees can be found chatting with each other during lunch, regardless of department.

One thing to note is management. I've found that reaching out to anyone outside my direct supervisor is a challenge, and getting an answer to an urgent question requires tracking them down in person. Emails can go unanswered, and information can get lost between meetings. Be prepared to take meticulous notes if you attend a meeting.

Overall, I enjoy working here. The culture is fantastic, the work is rewarding, and any hard or negative aspects of the job are far outweighed by the good points.

Truspace has a great business model; however, the company is so mismanaged that one minute the company is talking about hiring 300 employees in 4 years and a week later laying 7 people off because a lack of work.  Projects are often late and over budget due to zero accountability enforced by management.
The employees who do still work there are understaffed and overworked (putting in a 55-60hr work week is not uncommon).
The most enjoyable part of the job are the coworkers.  There is a family environment and people genuinely want to help.   Working with clients is the most enjoyable part of the job.

Excellent company to work for (and with!) Management is extremely visible and treats workers with dignity, respect and like we are part of the family.  Company is huge on work/life balance and every employee is an equal.  Atmosphere is open and happy, work load is extremely sustainable and each person genuinely cares about each other.  I've learned to have such patience working here - I've learned not to stress out or worry as things always get done, as a team!  Everyone wants to be heard and at Truspace you ARE heard.  Management takes our ideas and we sit, as a team and discuss them.  I've very much been enjoying my career here and look forward to the future of what us as a team bring to our clients and ourselves!

Pros 

The people are all super nice and friendly, probably because we are all treated with respect. A nice culture about the place which runs on integrity and honesty. Really relaxed, family style atmosphere but doesn't stop your ability to work like some places. Great benefits with health insurance & snacks/drinks provided. Exciting growth plan which will see us become the most wanted Interior refurbishment company in Canada. And the Management is superb and join in and your able to talk to face to face which is nice.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing, it will get busier still as the company grows but it is what makes it so nice to work here!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my job at Truspace for the past 3 years for the following reasons:
 - positive enjoyable culture

 - innovative growing company
 - great benefits
 - extra time off (3 weeks vacation, extra company wide holidays, birthdays off)
 - opportunity to grow / move-up

Truspace has made a noticeable attempt to improve and grow with their staff since I've been here. They regularly ask employees how they could improve and action these items. 
I fully enjoy my position here and would recommend it to hard working positive people looking for a new company. 


Management takes on more projects than the department can handle. Unwilling to listen to employees concerns with level of quality of work and being overworked. Have a written policy against bullying in the workplace but is just written nothing is actually done when employees voice their concerns to management or HR.  
Constantly having to answer to unhappy clients because promises aren't being met. On average one person quit a month during the 9 months I was with the company. Two including myself left without a  job lined up because it was such a toxic environment.

Truspace is a great workplace built on the core values- honesty, building integrity within its employees and have evolving methodologies to serve customer needs. They are always open to new suggestions from all their employees for the betterment of the company and one never has to worry about asking a question twice regarding company's norms & practices. The company has some great trainers and managers.

I have been working for Truspace for coming up on 2 years now and it has been nothing short of a pleasure! The Team Culture throughout the company is second to none. Our Senior Management team makes everyone feels inclusive and is always willing to go the extra mile when needed. Working out of the Toronto Office we have really begun to establish a name for ourselves partnering with some great brokers and landlords in the Industry! Very excited for what's to come! 

Going into my 7th year here.  Work / life balance is extremely important.  Management knows each and every employee, the employees are fantastic to work with and everyone is heard!  I've been in this business 25+ years and this is by far the best company I've worked for. I'm constantly told how important my work is and how valued I am.  

Truspace is a really great company to work at. There are endless opportunities to explore and advance your career at Truspace. They do care a lot about feedbacks, and always care if you are enjoying your job and learning. They treat you like a person, not an employee. That's reflected in the benefits and how management approaches employees.
