A day of work at Try Recycling is, typically hot, dusty, and frustrating.
From this job I have learned how to deal with co-workers/managers lack of knowledge and differences on views/opinions. Managment does not really keep up to date with what is needed, nor the mistreatment of the machine operators to labours.

I find the work place very divided between the managers and machine operators against the labours. Our managers will tell us to ask the machine operators to bring down big fuel tanks for us to fill up our generators and machines, and when ask they neglect to do so. When manager finds this out he yells at us labours as if it is our fault no one listens to our needs inorder to operate. Also we work outside so depending on the weather it can get real hot, wet and windy, when working outside with equipment in a lightening storm you are supose to shut production down until storm passes. Not Try Recycling our manager will make us work through it, risking our lifes in the process. I do admit when he is not around and we work at a different site they will get us to shut down and wait it out.

The hardest part of this job is having to put up with the mistreatment of labours, and not saying anything back. They have threatened us with our jobs because we have not reached projected numbers due to belts ripping and the machines breaking down and over heating which is unpreventable unless they order reversable fans, which they have told us they do not want to spend the money on. It is a very hostle place to work.
I find the only enjoyable part is went the managers are gone and us labours are left alone to do our jobs on our own, which then everything runs smoothly and all labours gets along.

Last note.. It is also very family/friend of owners orienated which lets certain people get away with murder in a sense, as well as special treatment. ex. promotions/moving up in company way faster then people who have been around alot longer.

A typical day involved working with coworkers, management, and independently to solve unexpected problems that arose. I learned a great deal from Try, including working to delegate coworkers the most ideal job, solve interpersonal problems between peers, and improve on a great many manual and technical skills. 
It had a very relaxed and friendly culture, with extremely approachable management staff and a general feeling of desire to make the company succeed.
The management staff wasnt afraid to get down and dirty and do the work that needed to be done, and that helped to build respect and a strong repoire.
The hardest part about the job was the temporary workers who could be undesirable and disruptive at times.
The most enjoyable part was the feeling of teamwork and accomplishments.
I'll never forget the time we sorted so much materials the machines couldnt move fast enough to move it out of the way.

Task list is not big enough for 3 site maintenance employees. Spent most of my days standing around trying to find something to do besides picking up garbage all day. Did not get trained on any equipment/tools in order to complete my tasks to their satisfactions. Was constantly told "that's good enough" to all tasks when working with others. No one really knew what needed to be done on a daily basic. 

a typical day for me is different as I am a loader operator I clean up around the bins and pack them down. Help with recycling and customers when I can. There isn't a lot to do other than dealing with the long lines of customers and trying to get through them as fast as possible.

good place to work i started on the picking line within 6 months was trained in a loader and that opened upo way more oppatunties for growth pay could have been better

Ok place to work good hours pay could have been better the 10 hour days were nice cause you got a min of 48 hours a week most of the other people that work there are nice people..

Good place to work and gain valuable experience.  There is room to move up quickly if you are a hard worker and willing to learn.  Workplace culture values workers who can perform independently and as part of a team.

They give you postions that are general labourers, greeters.
freindly company. its a good stepping stone for people.  Try recycle has been around for 10 years and they are still going

Great place to work. Management is very understanding and flexible. I was offered many opportunities where I was able to learn different skills. I am happy that I had the opportunity to work here.

good place to learn operating skills but limited to very specific operations. Not much room to advance and trying to get a raise is quite difficult even for employees that excel.
