Tucs Contracting

It used to be a great place to work now it isnt even a fragment of what it used to be management is constantly threatening you- people are getting hired on then fired a couple of weeks later to many office politics HR doesnt even know the role. Worked there for many years and its a diasaterous environment for anyone to work in avoid at all costs! People quit left and right they cant keep anyone there anymore they dont even have to fire them anymore. Which they did with false reasons and its going to catch up with them especially HR for letting borderline illegal hiring / firing practices happen.

You will be promised the world when the Manger of this joke outfit calls you via phone and conducts your interview. You'll be lied to by Management on DAILY basics. There is ALOT of favoritism in the joke of an outfit. You'll also be told what to tell customers on daily basics just to make the manager look good. Turn over is truly mind blowing, can't get to know any co-workers as they don't be with the company long enough to get to know.

They call themselves 100% aboriginal, that's not the case honestly. They fly that flag just to gain work opportunities and have advantage on other companies. The manager is some joke from Newfoundland.

Tuc’s Contracting is a toxic work environment. Management is all so well to your face but talks behind your back. Management going around asking employees about other employees.

It’s simple, management skills is just not here. Zero leadership skills. Once you become an employee you will quickly realize that joining this company was a mistake. Turn over rate is extremely high.

There are NO mentorship in place. There are NO class 1 trainers in place. I’m being honest when I say there is nothing positive about this company. This place is going to be a poster child for a large workplace incident soon enough.

No schedule, no hours. The management expects you to read their minds. A lot of favouritism takes place on daily basics. HR is basically the manager. If you talk with HR it goes right back to the manager nothing kept confidential here. Management gets very weird with you when you ask to meet or speak with HR. You need to do it on the sly. They tell you during interview we have lots of work. Trust of the matter, they have very little work just good at making promises to employees and not telling the truth. 

All things taking into consideration this is by far one of the worst companies I’ve ever worked for. And that’s an honest statement. 

Do your research on this company before submitting your application. You will quickly notice (Tuccaro, Tuc’s Contracting, Neegan Development, Neegan Technology Services NTS), are always hiring (high turnover). That’s due to poor leadership that’s currently in place, making promises to employees that’s never met. Example: overtime, steady hours, schedules and the list goes on. Just an all around shady organization.

They stride on being aboriginal owned. Yet total original content would be approximately 10%. I’ll leave the remainder for you to draw your own conclusions.

Been employed by Tuc’s Contracting since 2018, no issues to report to date. 

I can only speak for myself and I can honestly advise that I have never had any issues and I would recommend Tuc’s Contracting. I reports for work and does my work and minds my own business and don’t get caught up in the high school drama. I have never got caught up in high school drama as there’s always drama no matter where you works. Some operators or drivers always feels they are much more then they are is what I will say. 

The only negative thing would be we work a lot of hours and long days. 

The workers were great to work with, all very friendly and hard workers. The problem with this place is the management the supervisors would complain when someone called in about a truck breaking down and having to help deal with it (which is there job). Manager would go around gossiping to others about their workers and former workers. The manager would also favourite certain individuals and let it slide when they would just sit around but get mad at others for doing the same. So many problems. 

Only apply to Tucs if you’re desperate. If Tucs is your last resort for work before becoming homeless it might be a good fit until you can find something else. LOA was recently taken away and the morale within the company is very low. Upper management walks around with a chip on their shoulders and they think they own you. Turnover rate is high. Good operators don’t stick around long and they are constantly short staffed and having to hire bottom of the barrel workers which barely make it out of the probation period. 

I drove a water truck to different oil sites, was a demanding job especially in poor/cold weather as we had to stay outside while pumps working.  Co-workers on most part were OK, had one supervisor that was awesome...  Hardest part of job was tolerating the weather, either the hot, but mostly Alberta's extreme winters and being in the elements.  Also had to watch for bears!  Most enjoyable part was the driving, have been driving for a long time and enjoy that part of the job.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Going home to Calgary was the best part of working with tucs 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not getting overtime pay , no mentorship 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was not a great experience for me working at tucs , the management was Terrible at the time

Long and boring was an average day at tucs
