What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part for me, has been the welcoming and making me feel part of the team. Tulmar has a great culture and great management team that listens, and truly cares about your well being, your growth and provides the right tools for your success.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part is adapting to the nature of defence and aviation projects as they follow strict regulations and validation. However, Tulmar has a great knowledge source to help you adapt. They have training in place and a process to get you up-to-speed. Colleagues are also willing to help you and the whole team makes you feel you are not alone. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Tulmar has a great sense of culture. So far, I've experienced two great events organized by an internal committee, a Black History Month celebration with lunch highlighting Afro-Canadian cuisine, and recently an outing to a maple farm in Quebec. I'd also mention this is the first time I've seen HR in a company being so proactive about employees' well-being and mental health. I feel happy and very comfortable coming to work every day. The plant is very clean and organized, and HR and management really take care of each employee's individual needs. So far, it's one of the few companies that actually follow through on what they say. It's encouraging to know if anything comes up, I can speak and be heard. So I'd say Tulmar's culture is very strong, employees have a real voice, and it's a clear, good work environment that supports personal and professional growth.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My day starts by getting to work 5 to 10 minutes before 8am. Around 8:10 or so, we have an engineering meeting where we share our top priorities for the day. Then I follow up on some emails if necessary, arrange my day in terms of meetings or blocking out times, then I'd focus on the major priorities for that day which may involve engineering documentation, drawing updates, project update meetings, prototypes, test results, reports, and validation. Every day is unique but follows a similar structure. In the afternoon I check more emails, help production or colleagues if urgent, and at the end of the day I like to do a mini review of how my day went and prepare for the next day. Some days are long, some days are short. I'm always busy and there's always something to learn or to help with. Engineering at Tulmar is challenging, very rewarding, and we work on meaningful projects that affect the well-being and directly impact the safety of our troops, defense military guys and girls, or aviation and land projects. Some days we work on defense related projects, other days we work on aviation or civil projects. I recently joined the engineering team and I'm very happy I found a company that values safety, quality, and sustainability as much as I do.

Although I am new at the company, I find the company has great opportunities and values. Forward thinking and is growing and has good salaries & benefits.


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The company is a fast moving manufacturer in the Military, Aviation and Civil security products. There are rush moments where production is stalled and needs to be rectified on the spot. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Tulmar has a very diverse staff and focuses on inclusion and sharing cultures.
They have many events that share different cultures history and even culinary meals. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I am on the engineering staff group, with a focus on Production & Manufacturing processes. My daily activities include solving production issues, designing Production jigs, fixtures & tools. I also manage and update test reports and procedures.

I have recently completed my first month at Tulmar as an R&O Component Technician, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my experience so far. From day one, I’ve been welcomed by the employees and staff, who have all been incredibly helpful and responsive to any questions I had. Their support has made the transition smooth and enjoyable.

I appreciate the diverse range of roles and responsibilities within the company, and I believe management did an excellent job in placing me where my previous experience could add value both to the team and to my own growth. The work environment itself is clean, professional, and well-organized, with a team of knowledgeable individuals from whom I can learn and grow.

Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying my experience at Tulmar and look forward to the future opportunities that lie ahead, especially in the context of safety and continuous improvement within the company.

Starting my first full-time job at Tulmar has been a great experience. As someone fresh out of school, I’m thankful they saw potential in me and the skills I could bring to the team. I work in the Enganiging Department, helping design products used in life-saving applications, which makes the work feel meaningful. I’ve learned a lot about designing for manufacturing and how to make products efficient and buildable. The culture here is very positive, my coworkers are always willing to help or answer questions, and management is supportive and approachable. The hardest part was learning all the processes at first, but I’m picking them up quickly thanks to the guidance I’ve received. The job isn’t too physically demanding, which is perfect for me, and the hours give me a great work/life balance. I enjoy the physical design aspect the most and feel excited about the future. I’m proud to be part of Tulmar and look forward to growing here for years to come.


What is the best part of working at the company?
As an engineering intern, I am very happy with my level of involvement even on large projects within the company. At no point in my employment have I felt like I was given "busy work".

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Certainly deadlines. The engineering process is quite fast paced, with multiple projects on the go at once. Despite this pressure, everyone remains very friendly.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is very accepting and including. Despite being an intern, and a new one at that, I feel like my voice is heard.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Being involved in multiple projects at once, my day can vary quite a bit depending on which project takes priority. Regardless, it is a good mix of desk work and hands on designing and testing.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Tulmar walks the walk of their motto which is 'engineered for protection'. Things don't happen by chance: there's a thoughtful and deliberate approach to taking care of our customers at every level, and engaging all of us employees in a truly caring and non-performative way. If I had to summarize in one word my experience thus far with Tulmar people, it would be 'genuine'.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The tremendous responsibility of knowing that peoples lives depend on our products working as they're supposed to. Feels good to be contributing to keeping people safe!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Open, transparent, warm, friendly, and supportive.

I’m a mechanical engineering student and completed a summer internship here. I absolutely loved the experience. The projects I worked on were engaging and helped me develop my ability to manage a large and complex workflow. I also gained valuable insight into the defense industry and the importance of high quality standards.

One of the most valuable aspects of the internship was learning how to work effectively as part of a team. Not only with other engineers, but also with production floor staff. It taught me how important clear communication and collaboration are between engineering and manufacturing, which is something every engineer should experience early in their career.

What stood out the most was knowing that the products I contributed to could help save lives, it gave real meaning to the work I was doing.

Like any business, the biggest challenge is balancing multiple priorities, especially during busy periods.

The environment is positive and team oriented.  Colleagues are supportive and easy to work with, focused on getting the job done.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
As team lead, a typical day is usually checking in with my team, help solve issues, making sure  projects stay on track.  Also, coordinating with other departments.
Communication is Key to everything running smoothly.

A typical day at Tulmar involves cross-functional collaboration and a strong focus on quality. I've learned a great deal about defense and aerospace manufacturing, as well as the importance of accountability and continuous improvement. Management is approachable and open to ideas, and the workplace culture is driven by values like integrity, resilience, and caring. The hardest part of the job is navigating competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, but that also makes the work engaging. The most enjoyable part is working with a team that takes pride in what we do—there’s a real sense of purpose here.

Having worked at Tulmar for just over 2 months, I am still a new kid on the block.
I have always felt welcome and quickly made friends with the team.

The work experience has been nothing short of incredible, from the incredible team members to the unique opportunities.
Given the smaller size of the company, employees are heard and well respected. It truly feels like a team effort, where everyone does their best to help one another succeed.

I recommend this workplace to anyone looking for an enriching experience with a healthy work culture.
