Working at this firm has its share of positive and negative aspects, but unfortunately, the negatives tend to outweigh the positives. The company boasts a diverse group of talented individuals from various backgrounds, and the open workspace and office layout create an atmosphere reminiscent of an architectural studio.

There are commendable efforts in place to foster a culture of learning and development, such as the TF Academy, 360 Thursdays, and Tech Talks. Additionally, the firm organizes social and volunteering events, which is a nice touch.

However, the major drawback of working at this firm lies in the quality of the managers and their leadership styles. Dealing with certain managers can be extremely challenging, as they lack fundamental people management skills. Their one-on-one conversations often lack professionalism in their choice of language, despite expecting their team to maintain high levels of professionalism. Furthermore, constructive criticism is lacking, with an emphasis on negative feedback rather than acknowledging and praising good work or suggesting areas for improvement.

The manner in which performance dialogues are conducted seems to serve as a tactic to delay pay raises or promotions. Notably, there is a lack of clarity regarding the criteria for promotion, and decisions appear to be made arbitrarily. It is disheartening to witness individuals having to always push towards promotion while displaying constant progress and performance and not getting their hard work automatically recognized and rewarded. 

The firm expects employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance, yet they frown upon overtime work. Paradoxically, they demand productivity beyond the standard 8-hour workday, and issues regarding workload persist. Moreover, employees are often made to feel personally responsible for unfinished tasks, creating undue pressure and a sense of guilt.

The firm places a strong emphasis on perfection in drawings and other submission requirements, with minimal revisions handled by project managers. Resulting additional strain on younger /lower position employees who must meet high-paced deadlines without due consideration for the level of detail required, particularly in accordance with Toronto's standards and quality.

Working under these managers can be highly stressful and nerve-wracking, and there is an inherent fear of retribution if one speaks up or confronts them about their leadership practices. These individuals tend to display obsessive micromanagement tendencies, alongside a lack of neutrality and a propensity for passive-aggressive behavior.

The unqualified nature of these managers and some project managers significantly hinders the progress of the firm. It is no surprise that the turnover rate at this company is alarmingly high.

* Great work culture and ethics, and understanding of employee needs.
* High emphasis on knowledge sharing and learning for everyone's success.
* Management endorses technology and self development, with many opportunities to join in-house development teams.
* Management listens to employee suggestions.
* Many opportunities to participate in community events, with 8 paid volunteer hours, and nothing is obligatory (support cancer research, food bank, children of low-income families etc.). The company will match many of those contributions.
* Indoor gym for employee use.
* Project types are mostly residential high-rise, mixed use, super stores and supermarkets.
* In-house certified academy for industry-related topics, also not obligatory.
* Friendly work environment

It's a good place to work at. But when you have one of your co-workers disappearing every other week cause they got fired, you can feel the pressure. 

I do feel that some people that were fired got a unfair treatment. Specially if they don't have a lot of experience in this field. It's a really stressful industry. And the partners are pushing the managers really hard for the junior designers to work even harder and do overtimes that you won't get paid after 44 hours. If couple of your projects goes over-budget, its over. Your fired. 

The partners will never tell you in your face that your struggling. They will complain to the manager. And the manager will have no other choice than fire you.

- Every employee at this company is easily expendable
- You can have a flawless performance review one week and fired the next week because of their lack of commitment to their employees.
- Poor attempt at creating a fun and social work environment. it felt forced and awkward and that was a reflection of their true work culture.
- They may have strong community involvement but it is on your dollar that they pay you. You are expected to volunteer your unpaid time and donate your hard-earned income on fundraising activities.
I would not recommend anyone apply to this firm.

-Owners and management treated employees poorly
- You will be fire if you had one mistake or even if you are new and trying to understand the system.
- they expect you to as a CEO and know everything with salary of minimum wage.
- they pay you and take from you weekly by having donation and they force you join their events and pay for it even if you are not interested.
-  they have clique and made any new person not feeling good about themselves.
- nobody would guide you or explain anything, you should figure everything on your time. If you want to work overtime don't expect that to be paid.
- they pretend that they are strong or happy family, but they are the worst manipulated company.

For me this is a fun, open, and vibrant 150-strong workplace.
If you have ideas, and you want to learn, and you want to grow, the opportunities abound ... and I have taken those opportunities.
The software and hardware technology we are using now is impressive. The architecture profession is changing (has to change) fast. I sense the urgency here and I want to be a part of it.
Every day brings something new for me, and I love it!.

Ok place to work, with toxic streams coming from above. Stressful clients with unreasonable expectations. Some good managers, if you were lucky. Great learning opportunities with some really experienced architects. Also some really incompetent ones promoted/hired.

While many of the project managers, and workers are great people. Some upper and middle level managers are absolutely soul crushers. In the off chance that you get assigned to those people that are making a bid to move up on their rung, they will work you to your bone and destroy your soul. DO NOT WORK HERE.

-Great place for fresh graduates to learn about the building industry.
-Be prepared to come in early and stay late if there is a tight deadline.
-Lots of resources to draw from within the company, everyone is eager to help if you should have any questions.
-Best part is when you get the job done and see your hard work become reality.

Owners and management treated employees poorly, by consistently belittling them in front of everyone.
Results are the only thing management cares about. If you fall behind, they will fire you and have a new person at your desk in a week.
You are expected to work 60 hours a week.
