Manager's are awesome. Administration (HR personnel ESPECIALLY) are so horrible that people just from interactions with her specifically. Within your first week you will see just how awful they are. If you jump through every incredibly demanding hoop, you are treated half decently. If you turn down a shift due to other commitment, you are instantly on the sh*tlist and lose out on getting more shifts. They due not value their over trained staff, instead keeping staff that steal from them, do not show up for shifts, lie and in general are awful. They underpay EVERYONE and there are NO BENEFITS. Avoid at all cost. The staff turn over is extreme as anyone who knows their worth leaves.

Micromanagement from directors without consultation of employees or managers

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is generally good between coworkers 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Positive interaction between clients and staff. Upholding rules/expectations of clients in the household, documenting progress of clients and being there as a supportive role model.

Working with Turning Point was very fulfilling in the work that you do with clients.  Unfortunately management from the very top down is terrible, not supportive, blames others, takes no accountability and puts the organization before anything else.  
If you want to work somewhere where you are expected to work all the time with no support and never be thanked or appreciated, this is the place to be.

there are 2 levels of employees, the hourly staff are considered expendable and easily replaced. The turn over rate is ridiculous due to managements disregard for the hourly staff. no overtime pay, no raises, either work the hours they demand or be replaced or your hours cut to such a rate that they are no longer viable. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.

I loved the jobsite I was assigned to, the site manager and my coworkers were supportive and fun to work with. The rate of pay was well below industry standards and I found the overall administration and management more concerned with the bottom line than anything else.

North Vancouver and Vancouver were the sites I worked at and the staff were super friendly and collaborative. It's generally a more relaxed work culture but can get stressful at times, which the company addresses through clinical supervision which is nice.

Turning point is a great company to work for. The environment is supportive, collaborative, and interesting. Great boss, and co workers with the same goal in mind. To help people in recovery. 

Every day is a bit different but that's what makes it exciting. Being a smaller organization means your role can be more versatile and there are lots of opportunities to gain relevant experience and grow. 

With your own space and with the guidance of the mistake proof guid through lunch and dinner gives you lots of time to work on other things I made my own stock their 

I enjoyed working with the other staff and learned a lot from working with the clients. The hardest part of the job was to keeping the boundries in place for the clients, the most enjoyable part of the job was watching people grow :)
