Paid less than a cook although this job puts employees more at risk because if the physical demand.(good luck ever getting raise)

You're expected to prep the vehicles in the morning and clean them up without being payed.

If the manager doesn't consider you to be a an employee that goes "above and beyond", you get 2 star hotels for long hauls. This didn't happen to me, but it's happened to my other coworkers.

No overtime pay. Might work 14 hours but only get get payed for 11 because you HAVE to volunteer your time to clean up the trucks.

You pretty much live off the tips.

If management messes up on time frame and undershoots moving time to the client, they will become upset with you if you take longer than foretold(rightfully so) and not tip/give you a bad review, which then affects your work bonuses and chances at getting a raise. FYI, management has been getting better, but they still make mistakes frequently.

You're told the day/night before a job whether you work. Good luck planning anything ahead especially since they're short staff and can't spare anyone.


I've been a part of the Two Small Men team for close to 6 years now, and I've got to say, it's been an amazing journey. Right from the start, I felt like I belonged, which says a lot about the company's vibe.

Beyond the work stuff, Two Small Men genuinely cares about its employees. Whether it's flexible work schedule or the comprehensive benefits program, I'm never left feeling like they're committed to our well-being.

I can't recommend Two Small Men enough. It's more than just a job—it's a place where you're part of something bigger, something meaningful. If you're looking for a workplace where you'll feel valued and supported, you're in the right place. 

Hard part is working with less skilled movers. Dealing with Karen's/ male ones to. Good parts good crews= a good time laugh and enjoy the day. Even if it's a hard job. Days range from long to short.  1.5hrs to 13hrs. Heavy items a fair bit of the time get lucky to have light things. We love when people are ready and packed, list is dead on for what they have, offer coffees, lunch, dinner, and a tip is a huge help/blessing. Hate when list is worng/ people are not packed expecting us to stack loose things on loose things. Doesn't work like that. With most guys is chill and fun. With some others it's annoying and problematic. Management doesn't care about senior employees. Getting a raise is nearly impossible for all the hard work and blood sweat and tears you put into it. But they will hire new people for more money because that makes sense. I've learned people are two faced. Company doesn't seem to care. Our bonuses went from $100 gift cards to on our checks being taxed. No group events or party's with the company =no morale.  It's really the good crews and tips that make it bareable. 

A typical day at work would begins with opening the office at 7:00 am, checking voice-mails and e-mails, responding to said voice-mails and e-mails. Designating work crews and issuing each crew the documentation and schedule for that day. A large part of my position was dedicated to maintaining and providing an organized and stress free moving experience for the client. A good deal of my day was also dedicated to resolving customer service issues, such as complaints, and damages. A large majority of customer related incidents were quickly and respectfully resolved to the satisfaction of our customer. If a customer service issue could not be resolved in a fair and equatable manner, then I would process, maintain, and appear in any and all small claims actions filed against the company. Managing a multi-line phone system, fax machine, photo copier, managing and delegating to office staff as well as field employees.

The  company places important emphasis on their core values which they do extend to their employees; they care about you as an individual as well as a team member. You are supported and appreciated from the get-go and treated like family as the whole company is like one big family. Try-hard employees are recognized and rewarded appropriately. 

Training is done well and there is always ongoing support. Any issues are always addressed positively. They recognize mistakes happen, and unlike many employers, they do not hold these against you but rather use them as tools to help build your confidence and knowledge to benefit yourself as the company for the future. 

The company is accommodating as well. They take care of their employees in all senses. I can honestly say I have never had a better employer. I would always recommend to any one interested. 

Starting wage is 16$/h. 
There is no overtime pay
You will only get 1$ raise after 6 months. No more.
About 1-2 hours worth of work a day is mandatory but unpaid. (Cleaning trucks in the morning and after the job. For the drivers, doing safety inspections and fueling up the trucks. Doing paperwork with the customers… etc)
In the summer, you might get fairly steady hours but in the winter be prepared for 1-2 shifts a week that might only be 3h pay.
You will not be provided any safety equipment, gloves or boots.
Your superiors will pick favourites.
But hey, on the bright side, the crew working here are all super amazing people and hardworking.

I was a dispatcher for the company, ultimately i left due to better pay. The management is great at having weekly meetings and getting some feedback, sometimes they change using that feedback and sometimes they dont. There are a couple people in the company that are really difficult to work with but luckily i didnt have to deal with them too often The moving industry as a whole is underpaid and its hard to balance life and work with most of the roles there but if you like physical work and live a spontaneous life then you will like it. Each branch is what the dispatcher makes of it, if u get a good one as a mover then you will like management more. Ive learned the moving industry just isnt for me but for those that want to be in it, this is the company to choose

When I first started at Two small men, i immediately felt welcomed into the work environment. The dispatcher and employees make coming to work, (even over three and a half years into my employment) something to be excited about. 

There are tough days, like any job. But there is support, I’ve never felt like just some number. 

When I started in 2021 I was just a local driver but with commitment and hard work I’ve gotten to travel across Canada, to places I would’ve never imagined going. 

I’ve done moves in mansions, I’ve done donated moves for the community, even did a move transporting lifesaving firefighter gear that was shipped to those in need. 

No matter what I’ve been tasked to do, it’s never a dull moment. But I can count on my team and management. 

This is not a job for you if you have integrity. 
1. In the sales department, you don't get commission, yet the other agents steal your sales periodically.
2. Other agents make promises, and then you have to fix the mistakes
3. Favoritism to certain agents, and if you call them on it, you will lose your job.
4. No recognition for great numbers, as I had them, and yet was removed from the company due to restructuring.
5. Kept on a bad schedual and other people got better hours, so they obviously don't respect seniority
6. They sometimes would take a move that was already booked, remove it, and put another higher priced job in, and not notify the client causing lots of angry clients calling in.
