U.S. Bank

I have been in this field of work for 6 years, as a part-time Bank Teller. I have grown a strong passion with this field of work, that I now wish to teach it to new employees who enter this field of work. I have gained strong knowledge of so many bank and federal guidelines, that are important to this industry. I an have learned strong professional work ethic, as well as working with many others of a team.

Even though my title is a Teller, I have strong senior teller standing as a back-up to my Teller Coordinator (Supervisor). I give 5-star customer service, cross-sell bank products to customer to enhance their banking, manage the ATM which includes its cash-controls(increasing/decreasing), assisting managers with projects and additional duties, make outbound calls to potential leads, train new tellers, and help out other branches with staffing coverage. In addition to all these duties, I am also responsible for being a leader as well, as someone who wishes to progress to a higher position in the company. When I am working, I always have to thoroughly audit various documents and work, and thus enable my strong detail-oriented skills. With all these duties under my belt, I am a strong candidate for a full-time career. I am not able to advance in this company, which is why I seek a full-time job that I can turn into a career.

Fun, lighthearted, and fast paced banking atmosphere. Everyone does everything, the branch manager and the personal bankers all do teller transactions. I would imagine that this sometimes is why you could be talking to a branch manager and might not even know it. There are pros and cons to this. The managers are a great support system to each other. The employee turnover is terrible because employees come in and set their goals on fire, then burn out and leave. A great bank to work if you like to work really HARD and get rewarded

You will get training for about 3-4weeks but it's through online where the instructor is located in the US. After training, you will be paired up with the current employee and see how they answer the phone and deal with different cases. When all the training is done, you will have your own desk and start to get calls. The atmosphere at work was overall not that stressed but because some cases were related to financial things like the business owner didn't get money deposited etc., can be stressful. 

Job was very enjoyable.  I managed a very diverse portfolio and met wonderful clients.  The client interaction was very interesting.  I developed strong skills in Customer Service and acquired skills in up-selling other Bank Products and working with clients to grow their existing business.  I am a team player and worked well with my co-workers.  What is found challenging in the travelling to clients.

Been with the company for about a year. It is poorly managed. People get fired left and right, as well as quit. It seems like there are about two pending lawsuits with this company that I know of (that alone should explain a lot). District management does  not seem to care about its employees. They hear you but just turn the other way. It's seems like everyone is in competition with each other instead of building each other up. Everyone somehow know the business of other branches. It's like we are in high school.

Management is uncertain of goals to accomplish and means by which to accomplish them. No real assimilation into the organizational culture. Big job but uncertain of the details and how to manage accomplishments.

Learned a lot about the kind of people I do not wish to work for. No training program. no support from management, nothing positive ever said to employees. everybody throws you under the bus! Management needs to realize that the success of employees is success for them!

Once in the door U.S. Bank has so many departments you can work for. If you get bored in one position you can apply for another. If you don't get that position you can ask what type of training is needed to get it next time around and USB will help you get that training.

Great place to work for if you are worried about how your bank is doing. US Bank is very strong and heading in the right direction. The downside though can be the hours, staffing issues, and constantly working with entry level experience.

USB is an amazing place to work at. This company focuses on developing those  employees that show initiative. It comes with a lot of opportunities and room for growth.
