The job required us to hit a total of around 450 doors during a 3-week period. You are required to collect information that will be used to help ease the stress during the election period. This information would be used to print ballots that the citizen can bring with them on election day to make the process quicker and seamless. 

During a typical 4-5 hour day (from 4pm-8/9pm, when most people are home) you can hit about 150 houses. The let down is that only about 20 people answer their doors. This means that you'll have to be back a second, third, fourth, perhaps even fifth time until you finally get the information pertaining to that house. This can be quite exasperating, especially when you are required to leave a "Call Back" notice each time the person doesn't answer the door, and even then they don't bother to call you or fill the information out online. 

The most enjoyable part without a doubt would be the cheerful homeowners/tenants you would run into everyday.

Overall I would reccemend this opprotunity to anyone looking for temporary work , great for active seniors, university students with leadership experience or anyone with great organizational and mulitasking skils. Although that work can be challenging I also found it rewarding. You will gain some insight into your community and the passionate people who live amongst you. Not the greatest rate of pay for the hours but its comparable to other temporary contracts for Federal work.

My typical day was to start early in morning to catch people at home before work, make sure all paper work is completed correctly, do the same at 4 P.M until dark then submit the information to my supervisor before 9 P.M.. I learned the area I lived in and neighbors became new friends.Management was hands off unless you were behind schedule and then they where helpful at finding ways to speed you up. The hardest part of the job was all the walking door to door and the most enjoyable part of the job was the ability to do the job with flexability of time.

Although I did not participate in U.S. Census Bureau, a typical day for this is dedication.

Most housing, apartments, duplexes, etc are willing to participate in the survey.

Co-workers were pretty efficient and timely in most areas.  

The hardest part of this job is entering peoples homes in rural areas and trusting that the information is true and accurate.

The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting friendly people who are welcoming.

Fun, but very detail orient.  I learned different phases of the Census Bureau. I did not work in management during my employment with Census Bureau; however I did assist management in several areas.   The culture of the work place was relax with an eye on precision. The hardest part of the job was acquiring site location for training. The most enjoyable part of the job was the employees I worked with, and the camaraderie. 

Being the first job i did after High school it was fun and interesting. My job was to collect Data for KNBS census exercise. the job was challenging considering the kind of questions i as the enumerator was required to ask the respondents. My co workers were very supportive incases where i had difficulties. the most enjoyable part of the job was when i was able to get the a respondent to answer all questions i asked him/her.

visit dwellings door to door, hand out questionnaires, report production daily, learn how to fill out and correct info with accuracy, met all sorts of people, Crew leader was very easy to talk to. Hardest part was getting all questionnaires to the dwelling owners directly. Enjoyed meeting new people and entering all information into the computer at the end of the day.

This was an unpaid virtual intern position which I accepted while I was taking my Masters Degree through Florida International University.  I was tasked with researching and writing a paper on impact of Supervisory Colleges under Insurance Holding Company Act on insurance companies transacting business in the international arena.

The job culture is kind of toxic. One is expected to devote a good number of unpaid hours to planning and logistics, and accept sometimes daily calls from one's supervisor. Then when they want to get rid of you, they give you a lot of impossible cases, then terminate you for low performance.

I was very comfortable with the company policies.The way company treats me is very nice.  I didn't have any situation that i feel very difficult at my work.I am always looking for new task that i take it as very challenging.I am a very well committed person towards my work.
