I have worked as an independent contractor pouring liquor for many different companies and I have never felt disregarded and disrespected until working for UB. Like many of these reviews say, scheduling is a mess. I was contacted directly and signed up to work a shift over an hour away from my home so I requested a travel allowance. When I showed up at the shift there was another lady there who they had literally booked the day before and didn't think to contact me to cancel. When I phoned to get clarity the woman on the phone was exceedingly condescending and without having any knowledge of the emails I was talking about just continued to say it was my fault because the shift was confirmed with another taster. 

100% would not recommend working for them if you want any job security.

I worked for about six months at this company and I have to agree with other reviews on how disorganized they are. This means, a lot of last minute cancellations and changes to your schedule, without notification and no further explanation. Very little to no training is provided, except for a bunch of files with info. that you can find online.
They offer to pay a higher rate if you meet their quotas, which in most cases are kind of unrealistic and very hard to reach. They don't provide any work materials, you have to buy them all so they can reimburse you after.
Some of the BCLS where you go to work, offer no support and security for the Brand Ambassadors, so you have to deal with a lot of drunks and undesirable characters.

As a brand ambassador, I never go into the office. I go directly to the stores at which I sample liquor products. All communication with head office and coordinator is done digitally and/or by phone. It is very very convenient for someone like myself that lives in a remote area and is a full-time student. Sending all paperwork digitally removes the geographic obstacle and makes my life much easier. This job is ideal for someone who likes to engage in small-talk and conversations with strangers. In order to make sales, you have to talk to a lot of people, and this is the part of the job that I really enjoyed. What I didn't enjoy was standing for 4 hours at a time.

I worked for UB for a few months only and I can say that what other reviews say is entirely true. This is by far the worst agency I've worked for in terms of disorganization and unreliability. There's minimum to no support from the main office and most of the times was really hard to get in touch with them. They expect you to do everything including their job, buying product, work materials and at last you'll spend a couple hours more submitting  paper work. In addition, their rates are lower than most agencies. I wouldn't recommend this agency to anybody unless you're really desperate.

I really enjoy working as a brand ambassador for UB Marketing. They do lots of fun and easy events, pay is decent and the girls in the office who I've spoken to are really nice. They have lots of different stuff going on so its good for anyone who has a flexible schedule and is just looking to fit work in whenever is convenient. They dont make you pay for stuff at or in advance of the events like some other reviewers said- thats only if you do the liquor tastings at the liquor stores- and even for those they pay you back within a week. They pay fast which is good. Would recommend if you're looking for some odd jobs on the side!

There is no boss on the field to boss you around. You’ll get paid early even you make zero sales.

You have to face a lot of rejections.

You don’t get to get into culture or the company is just like you are a third-party you’re just going to the location they sent to you doing your job and minding your own business.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You don’t get the chance to go to the company the director send you on the field.

Working for Urban Bella, for me, has been an ongoing part time job. I have always appreciated the variety and the easy work hours. I have been with them for over four years now and while, yes, the amount of hours in regard to the availability of work does vary, the work has consistently remained pleasant as well as challenging. My interaction with the office has always been pleasant, cordial and supportive.

I always had problems with my payments and schedule, therefore I had to text and email them constantly to get my payments fixed. They have a very high internal turn over rate, causing lots of admin. problems that affect employees directly. They change and cancel shifts last minute all the time and if you complain too much, they will simply remove you from their roster.

The hiring part was easy as they always needed people, but sometimes they cut you off even after scheduling your shift (im talking about less than 24 hour notice). If you need to travel far, they WILL NOT COMPENSATE YOUR TRIP, and you need to buy their product and tasting supplies in advance. FYI NO OTHER BIG, LEGIT COMPANY LETS YOU DO THAT!

Events are amazing but jobs sometimes get cancelled last minute with no reasonable reason to why. Do not expect to get quality training, all they do is send files of information and you are expected to learn it yourself and be a pro on site. 

Compensation wise.. it is below average.. check the salary review page and you will know what i mean. 

This is not a long term option.
