I spent 6 years at UNFI. I have seen incredible growth over the past years. The leadership team is very special and will listen to their employees with concerns. I was not afraid to speak my mind. When changes are made, the leadership team always considers the employees. They have made me feel welcomed from day one and could not thank them more for the opportunities.  The only down side to working at UNFI was the collaboration can improve between groups to be on the same page to achieve the same goal.

Applied for a part-time job for the Richmond branch that said $18/hr on the Indeed Ad, got invited to the interview only to be told that the actual starting pay is $15/hr and you earn additional pay depending on the number of orders you fulfill per day, the pay is so inconsistent despite me completing orders at a steady rate per day, sometimes my pay for a week would be like $100 less than leat week despite working the same number of hours per week and doing the same number of orders per day sometimes even more, the only good thing il say is that it's it is a friendly environment but my pay is the most important thing to me in a job resign, I NEED A STEADY INCOME!!!

I have joined this company switching with 7 year old. In a month an individual similar to my role in Management turn out into a hater and passed racial comments to me and tried to had a physical contact with me by using extremely abusive language. It made myself heart broken and i have to leave this Supervisor position as the investigation process was so slow. Just worked for a month and felt intensive self insecurity with his eyes full of rage always staring at me.

Mixed feelings about working here. I thought the warehouse was amazingly set up and it made it very easy to get your work done. We had brand new machines. Our guns we used for order picking and replenishing always worked well. And it was very organized. However, the hours and overtime were very exhausting. We only had 1, 30 min break. In a 10/11 hour shift. Unless you were a smoker. Management would play favorites with the work given, because depending how fast you go you get extra pay. It's physically  demanding work.

This company does not have very good workplace culture. They are not an equal opportunity employer, women are especially held back and favouritism was rampant.  They don’t make warehouse employees feel like they are valued or have job security. They cut hours when they need to improve their thru-put for production. Will change your schedule on short notice. Always making employees sign contracts and use intimidation to encourage you to sign it. They care only about their bottom line and don’t care about their people.

People were "let go" constantly with no notice and the usual reason "the company is going in a different direction".  

Typical day at work, 10 hours worth of work on an 8 hour day.  Never, ever get caught up but yet they expect you to do more and then you get a "scolding" if you do not complete all of your work in time.

Worst part of the job is staff interaction which is pretty much not allowed.

Best part of the job was the company discount.  There were a few nice people to work with there.

The organized system and the coworkers and teamwork and the management and happy time working with them

Nothing was stressful to me everything was explained simply on my supervisor was nice man thank you

Warehouse working food shipping and receiving an order picking

Busy as usual and after work and full-time working

New management team has reinvigorated the business. The company believes in family and workplace balance. Customer loyalty can change in a flash. Finding new products to sell can be enjoyable and often hard if it is to replace the sales of a larger one you are losing.
The business is about relationships, building and nurturing them. At the end of the day it comes down to profit and distributing the items that customers want to buy.

This company is cheap that they can't even change the machine. Most machines have been there or used for mord than 10 years. Even the headsets and vocallect are old. Now a days it should be wireless! No Christmas bonuses for everyone only for those kiss a** management. Best thing they can do is gift cards lol. Sanitation and maintenance could use a major upgrade. Supervisors, management need to be replaced. I don't blame people for leaving. There is always a better opportunities elsewhere.

You get to buy on the market at a lower price

Incentives that is impossible to get and union that is controlled by the company

No teamwork. Nobody cares about your effort

Stressful place to work. The management only cares about the output
