Positive, friendly, solutions focused employer. Not perfect obviously. They have their problems, and there’s room for improvement but the business is run by genuinely good people with good intentions who care about employees.

Wages are low and benefits are substandard for non-union employees. However, they maintain a family culture and recognize and reward performance in other ways; ie. fun events like dunk tank the boss bbq, team building days at amusement parks, potlucks, birthday celebrations, employee awards, etc. They also offer room for growth, and opportunities for paid training.

Very high pressure environment so this is not an employer for anyone who isn’t  capable of keeping up in a very fast paced environment. 

This is a great place to build a foundation to move on to an employer that provides better security, work life balance, benefits, and retirement contributions. If they were able to provide these things to employees this would be an amazing place to work, and a life long career. Until then, spend 3-5 years here and move on to something better.

Though this is a union environment, there is too much favouritism for some of their employees who do NOT have seniority but get jobs cherry picked for them.  This company gets a lot of work that does not end up in even 8 hour days for their flaggers, and you could spend 6 hours commuting daily to work 5 hours.  Many times when you get a job that has 8+ hours attached they end up giving it to somebody they favour and you end up back on short jobs, requiring you to work doubles and all weekend just to barely pay the bills.  I was also referred to as 'another slave' by the HR manager the day I was hired.

Many years ago it was great then it got big and it was horrible just a number !

Everything about it was stressful they have field supervisors that’s never flagged a day in your life just brutal

Dog eat dog everything is a big secret that everyone knows about

Flagging is just hard in itself then have a company that only sees you as a number makes it worse

Illegally Dismisses employees to cover up poor management skills.
Very abusive work environment. Preaches "safety" but is all about making the upper management's quarter annual 5 figure bonuses.

Lies to their employees CONSTANTLY. Breaks union agreements all the time. Pays off union representatives to settle disputes in their favour.

You will never have proper working equipment for any job that you do and will be treated like a working class slave. This company takes advantage of undereducated single moms.

Beware.

Unhelpful and inexperienced dispatch manager likes to force employee and accuse employee for something untrue.Other Dispatch members and front desk are very helpful. Directors of the company are very wise and sensible people who know business well. So if you don't have to dealing with a numb manager who doesn't know how to deal with real life situations, you should be okay working for this company.

When you go for an interview you are greated by a wanna be body builder or his hoochie looking partner. The more bimbo you are increases the chance of getting a job. The owner is as fake as they come not a sincere bone in his steroids abused body. They double book flaggers and send one home all because they dont have the balls to say there's no work.they will RIP out your soul.

This company is a horrible place to work.
Dispatch is unorganized and favors certain people so unless you are that person expect to work far from home on short jobs. You ARE treated like a number at this place and while they say they care it is evident, they do not. Pay chq's are constantly wrong too so keep a watchfull eye.

I really enjoyed working there. Management  very professional and really cared about there workers. At the days end they always wanted to know how your day was.

Dispatch constantly barks back at you if you do not confirm a shift. Don't expect a work life balance because you will never be able to book time off.

The job was just not for me after taking the course and giving it a go. Hours are gruelling, bathroom and eating breaks are brief sometimes non existent.
