UW Food Services

My average day include filling and changing over stations, along with preparing and serving a variety of food items.  We serve high volumes of students while maintaining a level of excellence for our customers.  We have a variety of self serve and full serve stations including, but not limited to, a hot menu station, sandwich/wrap station and full, fresh salad and fruit bar.
Along with preparing back up sliced/diced fruits, vegetable, meats and cheeses; day shift is responsible for serving customers and filling various ready-to-eat and grab-and-go items around the outlet.
The afternoon shift is responsible for filling various items as well, and for making sure the stations are shut down appropriately so that opens can be accomplished with efficiency.

The best thing about working here was the balance between life and work, their shifts were lenient.
It was a constant switch from very stressful rush hours to nothing to do
They did not provide the best training and were not satisfied if you didnt learn fast enough
Despite having many different restaurants you'll typically only work in one
overall work culture was not very welcoming, supervisors were difficult to work with and I personally experienced being caught in the middle of the most unprofessional supervisor rivalry I've ever experienced 

UW food services is a great job to have while in university. The hours are not too long and the pay is reasonable. The staff is very welcoming, understanding, and relaxed. We are able to have a good time at work, but also work hard and give the best service possible when doing an event. The only downside to this job is the hours are quite unreliable, and I can go a week or sometimes two without working.

There are a lot of rules and many things you have to take care of before you even start work there. You have to be friendly regardless of whether your managers aren't. You can expect to have to work hard in order for people to be able to trust you/switch shifts/ask favors.

UW food services is well organized food organization that provide food to the students in the campus. It consist of Subway, Teryaki, Pizza Pizza, Pita Pit and Salads. The environment for working is very diverse and at the same time very friendly. People work at this place is mostly students of university or high school. 

Even though working at UW Food Services is fast paced it is easy to get into the groove of things. The only issue I had in recent months is the lack of shifts. I get less than half of the hours I ask for which is conducive to the money I need to pay for my needs as a student.

This location provides employees with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment. It also teaches important skills such as customer service and customer satisfaction.

Management at the location is very good, they are very fair and willing to answer any questions you may have quickly and effectively, shift times are fair and you have a lot of say over them.

I really liked my time working at UW Food Services. I wish I was still working there but covid took my job away. Awesome workspace, amazing people. Friendly, competitive place. I wish to work there again. 

Although the workplace was always busy, management was not always organized and would often make mistakes in scheduling. This was especially difficult as a student.
