There was a few occasion's that led to a couple of my co-worker's being disrespectful, and I kindly informed them that the tone and nature of there comment's were completely unacceptable to use while in the work environment, they did not like this very much but the main important thing is that I remained calm and respected those individuals whether they had respect for me or not, everyone deserves equal respect, just like every company/organization deserves Loyal hardworking employee's.

My management at the time had taken the courtesy, to also let my fellow Co-worker's relize how they were reacting in a public work environment, and warned them of the possibilities and consequences of there actions.

After about a week of my management confronting the two girl's, they started slowly earning my trust and respect by treating me as they would like to be treated themselve's, which in the end was a big relief for me considering it was a very uncomfortable situation.

I would have to say that the most difficult aspect of working with the company would have been coming in for shift change and everything not be accomplished or completed upon the expected shift shcedule of tasks to be completed.

The most enjoyable part of my job with he company was, building more clientele for the company ,also, always having something to do to keep my mind occupied ,and, focused.

This a short summary of my genuine and most efficient professionalism ,and, business ethic's that I will remain loyal
to no matter what, Because I know in the end I am doing the right thing for me and company to continue a fine healthy relationship between myself ,and, the companie's Clientele.

A typical day consisted of me coming in at 5:00am and getting the store ready for the day (ie. counting the till, doing the DIP's, and setting out stock) I learned how to multi-task, having to be able to get propane tanks, turn on pumps, and ring customers in.

Management was alright. The store changed hands twice when I was there. The first set of managers had been there for years and really knew how to keep things running smoothly. The ones that took over next were not ready for the amount of people that come in on a daily bases, but they quickly adjusted.

I only had 1 other co-worker who happened to be a friend of the family, so him and I got along great! 

The hardest part of the job was when the new owners took over they didn't know how to keep up on stock. Even though I wrote stuff down whenever we ran out, they just couldn't seem to have it come in on time. Customers always use to complain about the prices too, being a small gas station a quart of oil would cost $5.00 (+tax) when the Home Hardware behind us sold the same stuff for $3.50 (+tax) ,this made customers upset, and I don't like see my customers unhappy.

The most enjoyable parts were meeting all the people. Since the Ultramar where I worked was in a tourist town people always came in looking for directions, or just wanted to ask about the local sites that they could see. Some customers would only come in on my shift, they loved to chat about current evens or the local gossip (wasn't really into the local gossip, but the customers always right!) They made my job very enjoyable.

I found Ultramar Corner Store - Lacewood Drive (Halifax NS) to be a great place to work.  The management was very concerned about their staff and making sure that the hours that each employee worked made sense to that staff member.  If a staff member was unable to work as long as hours as required, a shorter shift was created where possible.

I learned what basic needs are needed in the carwash.  Whether it associated with the cleaning of it, or a bit of common sense with locking the exit door open during the summertime to reduce the humidity inside the carwash.  Also to perform the necessary minor fixings with the arm of the carwash when people run into it with vehicles.

It was always said about me that I could work any position, and was great at it.  I started out as Senior Staff (directly below Assistant Manager in the Managerial Structure) and did get moved to the Backshift Lead because of 2 reasons.  There needed someone to take control on Backshift so everything was done properly.  The second reason was because my Family Doctor wanted me to decrease the physical side of my job.  On Backshift I could decrease the physical side of things and help the business by taking charge of the Backshift Staff.

The hardest part of the job with Ultramar was when I had to leave due to medical reasons.  I enjoyed the atmosphere a lot and didn't want to leave it, however as it is said; need to follow doctor's orders.

Working as a Supervisor at Ultramar has been a truly rewarding experience. The company provides a supportive and professional environment where teamwork, safety, and customer satisfaction are top priorities. I’ve had the opportunity to grow my leadership and management skills while working with an amazing team that’s always willing to help each other. Ultramar values hard work and dedication, recognizing employees for their efforts and encouraging advancement within the company. The workplace culture is positive, respectful, and focused on providing excellent service to customers every day. I’ve learned how to handle daily operations efficiently, manage staff schedules, and ensure smooth workflow, which has greatly improved my confidence and organizational skills. Overall, Ultramar is a great place to work if you want to build a strong career in management and be part of a company that truly cares about its employees and customers alike.

Working at Ultramar taught me how to be independent on the job. The managers finished their weekday shift at 5pm which meant after 5pm and on weekends (which is when I mostly worked) I was by myself and had no one there to help me if something went wrong. 

As you can imagine, there were very difficult times when a gas pump was not working or if the car wash door was stuck. Being put on the spot with having to come up with a solution to make the customer happy and return in the future taught me a valuable lesson to stay calm and think of all the possible solutions. 

Most of the time I would figure it out peacefully, but other times I would not shy away from admitting that there was no possible solution and kindly refund the customer. The important part would be to make sure the customer left satisfied and understand that some things were out of my control.

A typically day at work here is pretty straight forward, fast paced job to keep me always on my feet, always something to do to keep me busy. I learned many valuable life skills such as customer service, sales, and also the food service industry such as sandwich making and also baking. I have worked there for a long time so my co workers became kind of like a family, we all got along and worked very well together. The toughest part of my job were running cash and bakery when I was working by myself in the store, but it kept for a busy and fast paced shift. The most enjoyable part of my job are my co workers, we get along so well and whenever there is a new recruit we make sure he or she feels welcome.

i would clean the store, while serving clients and stocking the shelves. I would bake for the items on the bakery list. I would exchange lottery tickets and update the lottery winning. Sometimes i had to shovel outside when it snowed and keep the area clean and garbage empty. The hardest pat of the job would be when drunk or disorderly people would come into the store and create chaos. I was enjoying when i had regulars come and have a small chat and exchanged a smile before they began their days. My co-workers where helpful when i had questions and in need of help. I learned that  customer relations job is fun and brings new challenges ith dfferent kinds of people you meet. The management was good and they took their job seriously, which was an insperation.

It is in essence, a minimum wage job. The pay is lousy. There are no benefits. Sometimes the customers are terrible people. The work can be hard at times.
The manager, who is now the owner as well, is a wonderful man who treats his employees with respect and dignity. I cannot say enough good things about the way the place is managed.
The tasks asked of the employees are significant, keeping such a large gas station clean is not a small feat. Some of the employees don't necessarily carry their weight, which is a shame.
I found this job to be enjoyable. The hardest part by far was making sure to complete all the daily tasks, but this was not that difficult.
The best part of this job by far was how easygoing the employees were. This was generally a stress free environment.

Can punch bad customers in the face and face no consequences 🙃

Crazy customer everywhere wanna steal gaz or anything they can steal

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Oh you don't get to work for the company only an underling no respect from Ultramar at all , no insurance,  rare Augmentations , no possibility of advancement or progress. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Again you don't work for the company you work for the guy working for parkland, always fear the next staff is not going to show up. Forcing you do work double shifts or until next staff arrives it's hel and idk how long I can take this anymore.

I loved working night shifts at Ultramar. The customers were always polite and respectfull . Working at the ultramar I learned alot . Such as operating the lotto machien , security systems , Gas pumps . I was able to be on routine with cleaning . The night shifts were great , As there was hours it would be completly dead and you can complete task , times where you have the odd customer aswell as rush hour . I was able to learn to work in all the above enviorments .
I had a great boss who would take his time to show me something if i didnt understand. Very responable as well determind. Never say you can't . The shifts were get as well . I was not promised a lot of hours as thats what i was looking for . But he managed to get me to work 3 to 4 days a week .
