Uncle Bobs Country Buffet

A typical day at work consisted of working as a team completing check-lists as well as working individually and communicating with customers. The management was extremely friendly and understanding. The co-workers were generally professional as well as welcoming and in high-spirits at work. The hardest part of the job for me was transitioning from working with everyone as a team to being independent and completing check-lists individually in a time frame. The most enjoyable part of the job was communicating with the customers and the end result of satisfaction in making people comfortable and satisfied in our southern "home-style" restaurant.

I started out at $12/ hour, which WAS $1.25 more than minimum wage. Manager made a lot of promises about what would happen when the government raised minimum. Owners decided to bust EVERYONE not on salary down to minimum. At the same time, they decided that we could do the same amount of work with 2/3 of the labour. Never once saw the dish machine up to temperature. At least twice a week improperly cooked food (fish, pork, and poultry) returned from the floor because cooks were too overworked to do things properly. Feel bad for Jeremy who was Manager when I left, because he honestly tried to run the place properly; but was constantly shot down by the owners.

The work area at Uncle Bob's was fun, clean, rapid and overall good. The people that I worked with seemed very pleased with the work that they did and were usually happy. Working in a buffet seemed a little tougher than my past job but I was able to exceed the expectations for the job. When customers had trouble or asked questions about the food I was able to sort out the problem fairly quickly. The only con about Uncle Bob's was the Management and the Wait staff. They seemed unorganized, slacked off, and didn't always give the best help for the kitchen staff.

Supportive Team and Management. Healthy and Positive environment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
We support each other so we don't feel any stress.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Open culture,respectful, supportive, and trusting of each other, and who are open to sharing ideas and perspectives. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy but fun, learning new skills everyday.

Started off great with opportunities and healthy environment. Management retracted the opportunities and independence of the skilled workers, leading them to quit. Overworked the staff that remained. Raised employees to managers that were incapable and unknowable of managing. Consequence for having a sick day or grievances. Promised benefits in the ad after 3 months, never provided.

I was a server the pay was good plus tips lots of hours and deals on food at work that costs you pennies to the dollar. customers can be ruthless at times but when aren't they. management cant speak english the business is owned by the mandarin buffets strong language barriers and disrespectful

good place to work if your a student, you get to learn a lot of new things and you need to have a opened mind. 
 
Management is good, you need to be willing to work long days

I love how reliable indeed always is and it is definitely my go to to look for jobs anywhere. I like how the advertisements are always very descriptive and is never misleading.

Worked here back in the day.  Best managers willing to work with you on career development.  Lots of perks and paid time off. Wish I had never moved out of town

Although I very much like the social enviornment of dealing with customers and the fast pace of the job itself, overall management could use some help!!!
