There are F/T and P/T positions; however, there are a limited number of F/T positions, and they are all full. There will not be any more added for at least 3 more years; but likely there will never be any more added. Full time comes with a full benefits package: medical, dental, optical, paid sick days, paid vacation, paid bereavement days, etc. Part time comes with no benefits of any kind; not even a single sick day. Part time does give you the availability to create your own schedule each week, working anywhere from 8 - 40 hrs, as per choice (except for when work is slow, P/T or, "TEMPORARY" employees, can have their hours cut or limited, as per their senority on the P/T list). This flexibility is great for students, and even some parents who may want a flexible schedule to accommodate school functions and children's activities; but again, there are NO benefits provided for this position. The likelihood of moving up to F/T depends not on how long you work for the company, or how hard you work, but on how long the people holding the current F/T positions stay in the company, holding that position. You could work there for 10 years, 40hrs/wk - every week, and never officially be F/T and not get any benefits. This is a good place to go to get experience in a warehouse setting and the use of RF guns and their related programs; the experience can come in handy at other warehouses with more opportunities for advancement.

In the near 3 years that I have been here, I have learned quite a lot in the shipping process with Bumper to Bumper Canada. I take a great amount of pride in what we do, but to be honest, I am not hugely impressed with the general attitude of my own supervisor. I believe a leader should be someone you look up to and can rely on for support, one with integrity and respect, but those unfortunately are not things I see in ours.
I also possess the ambition to grow in the company, as I have obtained much knowledge and experience in logistical work, but I haven't received any feedback in opportunities for said growth.
In spite of my concerns, I enjoy working for Uni-Select, a leading distributor in automotive parts throughout Canada, and am impressed by the amount of customers and the quality and quantity of the workload. With competitive wages and fair benefits, I encourage anyone seeking job opportunity to consider Uni-Select.

Radical change for the Canadian division has been in the works for the past 2-3 years since the changing of the guard to a previous Uni-Select US division executive (President and COO). Communication is at an all-time low, and fear-factor is at an all-time high since New COO has brought in a US colleague / buddy to drive scare tactics and cut costs anywhere possible. Major cost cutting is being done through head count reductions and role merges (do more with less). A lot of senior talent with decades of experience have been quietly escorted out of the organization. Others have left on their own accord. I would not be surprised if a lot of other USI / Bumper to Bumper employees are also starting to seek alternative employment on these sites. 
In my opinion, management's direction is unsustainable. Everything has a breaking point. It was once an amazing company - not that long ago. Perhaps this dog will hunt again... perhaps not?

I worked at uni for a little more about 4 months. they always took advantage of my being shy and made it hard for me to speak up. so if you shy, DON'T APPLY. if your very outgoing it should be easier for you. also if you call them but it goes to there voice mail. DON'T LEAVE A MESSAGE. they will ignore it. due to be being very scared of uper management i could not take it no more. but if you dont mind anything i have mentioned go for it. but be warred about gossip. there are people who are still working there who like to do that. you'll know first day. also DON'T HELP OTHER PEOPLE. the reason i say this is because, if your numbers low they might fire you. Over all the uper management is mean but most of the people who work there is nice. there the only reason i kept coming back was because of the nice people who i worked with. but be warned!

Every staff is expected to check the work-schedule and know where you are going to work for the day and be at your duty post all day until you are done for the day.
I was able to learn more about shipping, Materials handling, picking and receiving. i also learn how to use operates warehouse equipment such as power jack, pallet jack and a knowledge about folk lift.
I learn about time management.
Work culture is respect and friendship.
The hardest part of the job is trying to meet the dead line and meet up with the time.
The most enjoyable time is break hours where you have to interact with co staff, staff barbeque.

They do say that the work is there and for the most part it is but when it comes to securing a future with this it is an un-answerable question, then you are giving what i call excuses about head office not allowing more bodies to be hired when they have agency people like myself there every day. Now due to the lack of promising commitment, most people from the agency does not choose to maintain employment with the company. As far as management, the GM (Joe) does not seem to make what i would efficient decisions for the company. Also very under paid for the amount of skills that is used to carry out the job. I could keep going but I do not have all night to sit and right a book...

Hopefully my words will not fall on deaf ears.

This job (in itself) is fine.  But management likes to play games with people that they don't like.  Example; given larger & heavier orders on a constant basis while others always seem to get lighter work.  Lots of favoritism, many snitches to contend with.
No room for advancement unless management likes you.  
Poisoned work environment. Many people work under the influence. 
Lots of personnel conflicts.
The building gets extremely hot in the summer, no ventilation.  Very dirty, lots of dust.
Lots of repetitious work.  Union job but poor wages.  Union stands behind the Company, not the people.

This company hires particularly through an agency and because of that they have a high turn over rating for new employees. Those who manage to stick around long enough to gain stable hours in a full-time position aren't often hired full-time for years. The raises are few, the benefits are slim, and the management lacks in its ability to recognize its hard-working staff.

 They aren't a leader in their industry and haven't been for a while, this largely due to their lack of attention given to customer and employee retention, as well as their lack of innovation. 

There is no incentive to learn a more challenging skill as your pay stays the same. They don't seem to pay their managers/supervisors a wage that justifies the role responsibilities expected of them. Theres no way to work towards a raise because they can't pay general staff more than supervisors. Cost of living raises stop once you reach the cap for what they're willing to pay for your position.

The people and the support. It makes a huge difference when you actually enjoy who you work with.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of communication internally.  Not the fluff stuff, the important information.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s fast-paced without being stressful, and people are friendly and easy to work with. There’s flexibility in how and where you work, though there aren’t many team-building opportunities. Most managers are understanding when life happens - keep your work complete and they’re happy.
