My experience at United Sport and Cycle was truly exceptional, largely because of the incredible work culture. It’s a place where inclusivity and enthusiasm are at the heart of everything. From the moment I started, I was welcomed into a team that felt more like a community. The energy is contagious—everyone is passionate about what they do, and it creates a positive, motivating atmosphere every day. One of the best things about the culture is how valued I felt. My contributions were always recognized, and there was a real sense of purpose in the work I did. The management goes above and beyond to ensure their employees feel supported and appreciated. They foster an environment where open communication is encouraged, and I never hesitated to approach my managers with any questions or concerns. Their kindness and understanding made it easy to build trust, and I always knew I had their backing. The workplace is also driven by encouragement and growth. Managers consistently motivated us to improve, offering guidance and feedback in a way that empowered everyone to reach their full potential. It’s rare to find such a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie, but United Sport and Cycle really excels at it. On top of that, the company organizes fun events outside of work, strengthening the bonds between staff and making it an even more enjoyable place to be. Overall, the work culture is second to none—it’s a supportive, high-energy, and inspiring environment that made every day feel fulfilling.

Many of the staff here are overworked and underpaid for what is expected of them. With a skeleton crew, they are asked to be cross-trained in multiple areas without extra compensation. There is little opportunity for career advancements. The General Manager doubles as the Marketing Manager, Chief Operations Officer, Events Manager, and more, which makes it difficult for him to properly support his staff in any of those areas. Turn-over is high, especially among younger staff who quickly realize the opportunities at United are limited. It appeared clear to me (and others) that United's dedication to profitability overshadows its dedication to social responsibility and community initiatives for EVERYONE. While I was here, I did not feel supported by leadership or valued by management. The entire structure of United felt chaotic.

I really enjoyed working for United. I meet many people who are extremely passionate about sport and  fitness. I recieved many opportunities for additional training and advancement. 

I loved my time there. The work was interesting and the people were wonderful to work with. Management listened to employees and valued their input. I got to use my problem solving skills, so I had a wonderful time working there.

They did not fire or lay me off they took my hours away. I did not like the work atmosphere. I have a disease called Ulcerative Colitis, the shop was like high school. If you did not fit in no one talked to you.

I had an amazing time working here for the 4 years that I did. I love that everyone feels like one big family and every event is celebrated as such. Anniversaries at the company are heavily celebrated as well.

Great community store, but training isn't so substantial. Fun people, good hours, but it's not easy to advance a career here. Just a good place for an entry level job. And good discounts.
