The job allows for alot of freedoms but there is alot to deal with.

Management - often unorganized and overloaded with work, company owners have unrealistic ideas about thing should run. Don't have all the tools to complete the job. 

Work/life balance - during busy season there is lots of longer days or odd hours. You know when you start but not when you end. 

Accountability - the freedoms of the job are great because it allows you to work how you want as long as the job gets done properly and timely. But when mistakes are made everyone blames everyone else before figuring out the issue.

Job security/pay - job security is good. If you are a good worker and learn how things work it's an enjoyable job and very secure! Pay could be better for what they ask of you and raises is like pulling teeth.

Communication -  is very poor at time and you have to repeatedly ask the same question. Things can change with whats going on and not everyone knows.

Benifits - they have a decent Benifits plan and offer more than most in the industry. It helps but sometimes difficult to figure out what is covered.

Honestly the worst place I have ever worked. Poor management, no organization, poor salary and Super unsafe environment. Owners are really rude and won’t listen to employee suggestions or concerns. If you’re a hard worker and they notice you will be taken advantage of, I Was pushed into jobs I didn’t want and kept getting more responsibilities with no incentive or job title change/advancement or general appreciation. Very biased with family and friends of owners and managers being prioritized and getting special treatment over other employees ex. raises and job advancement. Very cliquey, with bullying mostly between students, some of them being really mean. Roof leaks really bad in the green house, been made to work in the rain. Mold in the cooler is horrible, was told to sort through moldy product without any PPE.  I Worked there for almost a year and had no idea what the “benefits” actually were or what they apparently covered. Holidays are a total nightmare. All bad reviews are accurate. Not worth it to work here.

I honestly don’t get all the bad reviews that are here. Really far from what actually goes on at work. 

GOOD HONEST WORK is rewarded greatly here. If you perform your tasks properly and have a good work ethic, working here is a breeze. 

The management is VERY nice and understanding. Whoever says otherwise is a lazy bum that probably got fired because of it. Do your job properly and you will have no issues at all during your time here. 

During the busy season, you are expected to work at all times which is understandable since you are only ever really busy DURING peak seasons. The rest of the time, it is pretty much a laid-back environment. Specially the managers. If you ask for time off, provided that it’s not that busy, they don’t really mind. I find that part VERY satisfying. 

Overall, the company, the work environment and the management are pretty great if you ask me. Pretty happy and satisfied with my time at UFD. 

Very unsafe work environment, expected to work in freezing cold temperatures all day without a change in location. No work life balance and no clear finish time. Management expects you to do every single thing or job without proper training and management just walks around with a clipboard in hand, not contributing at all. Everyone who works there looks miserable and the place is filled with little cliques. If you so much as smile at one of the group of girls they give you dirty looks. Very uncomfortable place to work and not worth working there for $15/hour.

management at this company is the biggest joke i've ever experienced in my life. they do not value hard work and would rather needle you for the smallest things they can find rather than congratulate or reward good work. on top of that the owners are completely incompetent, no real experience running a company, the equipment and programs are old and sh*tty, pay is awful, and they won't listen to a word you say. they do not care about their employees, everything is about numbers to them. complete waste of time

Long hours, low pay, the more you do the more they expect you to do. They take advantage of the people who work hard and coddle the ones that are lazy. If your a hard worker they just keep  putting more work on you while others do less.
You never know what time you'll be done, even if your done you will have to help the slower or lazy people. Pay is awful, benefits suck. Sales gets all the perks and treat the works like dirt. Holidays (mothers day, valentines, Christmas etc. Expect to work 15 hour days. Overtime meals are a joke.


Fast paced environment with lots of opportunities to advance. Management works with you to create a schedule that works for both sides. Management is always supportive and encourages teamwork and initiative. Individuals who works hard and have a positive attitude have an easy time fitting in and building strong relationships. HR and ownership is always available and supportive if needed. Lots of opportunity for overtime and making a good wage with good hours. UFD values valuable people who work hard and work well in a team.

My experience with UFD was great at first. But I ended up having to get emergency surgery and as I was on sick leave. My manager called to check up on me, as I was telling him I was looking forward to coming back, he let me go without notice, and without severance pay.
Great place to work, but don't get sick or yiu will get fired for no reason,cause they will make up a reason that makes them look justified in the firing. 

my work load was very heavy I had to cut flowers resupply 3 to 6 workers with fresh flowers gather bouquets and put them in buckets and I had to clean out the fridge filled with buckets of water everyday. I was being judged off of a past employees efforts which was unfair and I'm not no super hero I could only go so fast. i got fired for not going inhumanly fast enough.

I have worked at United Floral Distributors for four years. In general the work culture could be more positive. The job security and rate of pay is good! I have learned to deal with many different personalities. The toughest part of the job is finding good drivers. The most enjoyable part of my job is hiring someone in need.
