Typical Day at Work :
-start with pre-trip truck inspection
-arrive minimum 15 mins early to site to start FLRA and assess jobsite
-set up according to TMP all signs and devices
-continue to reassess throughout the day and make any changes to TMP along with devices or signs needed
-provide TCP support and also do TCP work 
-provide breaks to anyone that needs one
-once job is done teardown devices and signs in proper manner

What I've learned:
- a ton! 
-this job you are endlessly learning
-I would say rhe biggest thing I've learned at this workplace is patience, sometimes it's slow with work but dispatch will always do their best to get you work even when it's slow
Management 
-management seems to be understanding and easy to work with 
Workplace culture:
-some days are fast paced and others are more slow, either way I find my coworkers mostly eager to help out and answer questions when i have them
-supportive management and a real team feeling on projects
Hardest part of the job:
-being on your feet for 8-12 hrs some days
-weather, we work rain or shine, snow or sleet, dress appropriately
Most enjoyable part of the job:
-meeting new people and constantly using my problem solving skills



At United Traffic, they provide me morning shift and night shift depending on clients’ needs..
I learnt a lot of management skills in traffic control and handling crew in a better way..
The Management Team in the Office supports the team members on the field very well with respect and dignity..
People from accross the world come to work together at United Traffic with a full hearr and passionately..
The hardest part of the job is that when it rains during work hours.. but it’s alright, the company will give rain coat for the team members to work when it rains..
The Best part of this job is that we support each other and create a great atmosphere to work together..

What is the best part of working at the company?
They are a very terrible company to work for

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When I was injured and had to make a work safe claim they turned against me and they fired me

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not very enthusiastic, very depressing and very stressful supposed to be a union. There was no union at this company. I do not recommend working there.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Depending on the weather and if you got into an accident

Gained experience include:
Executing effective traffic management plans with the proper equipment
Setting up, maintain, and remove work zones
Effective communication with your work partner to conduct the flow of traffic
Lifting cones and signs which may weigh up to 50 lbs.
Working with construction team on various tasks when traffic management is not required
Stop, slow, and safely directing traffic through construction sites and work zones
Operating hand held radios to communicate with crew
Site maintenance and other duties as assigned


I really enjoy working with United. They put on an internal LCT course which was really nice. Nice to work with a ‘smaller’ company who you can grow with. The company I was with prior to United was way to big… you were just a number and couldn’t talk to anyone in management.

United is a very good company regarding safety practices making sure you have the equipment (regarding PPE etc). Safety is a top priority. Very lenient when requiring time off work. The only thing is seniority you are on call a lot. I do feel dispatchers really need improvement and The new HR really needs improvement

There are small company who started but there location is Langley so it was kinda in pain to drop off your time sheets and also if you have car it will benefit for you to get more work but if you don’t you won’t get as much work since you transit the location were also far I was sent to north van a lot 

My experience has been excellent with United Traffic . Great communication with management and all staff members. All staff are treated equally and fairly . Competitive wages and benefits. 

I like working with united traffic,  they are very accommodating and friendly to work with.  Schedule is flexible and staff are very supportive.  I highly recommend United Traffic Control. 

United traffic Control has been supportive and there have been opportunities for growth and development. The salary and benefits are very competitive. All in all, this is a great employer. Lots of training and development.
