A typical day of work involves general painting and problem-solving. If you work hard and have a good attitude, you'll find it fulfilling and rewarding. 

This is both the best job I've ever had, and one of the worst that led me to quit, and that depends heavily on your student manager. Managers are generally hired without much experience, so it's a dice roll depending on who you get. 

I was compensated $17.50 per hour, which is on the low-end for painting but acceptable and better than a lot of student painting companies. Hours depended heavily on how well we could market ourselves for jobs. 

You'll be paid in piecework, so some jobs took a day more than expected and we only made minimum, while some 2-day jobs were done in a day, leading to $25+$ per hour. Indoor jobs are h*ll, while fence staining is super easy, enjoyable and pays insanely well.

Company culture is relatively laid back and a little disorganized, but the main manager who runs the busniess every year is tough, but fair and gives good feedback. 

The job market is good in 2022, so I wouldn't gamble on this role this year. If you're having trouble finding work though, you might land a good manager and have an overall fun time. 

A typical work day consists of answering phones, data entry, mail sorting, filing, and other miscellaneous office tasks. Through this position I have improved my customer service skills, organizational skills, and learned about filing and courier services. The management of this company are very approachable and friendly, and are always willing to help with any questions I have. The workplace culture is great, with friendly coworkers and supervisors who make the office a positive place to be each day! The hardest part about working here is coordinating with managers in the Western provinces due to the time change. The most enjoyable part of working here is being able to tackle new tasks each day and working alongside awesome coworkers!

Management at this company is very approachable. Whenever I have a question or a concern I'm not afraid to speak to management about it. The workplace culture is great! Monthly socials and year end trips make working here an enjoyable experience. The hardest part about working here is coordinating with managers in the Western provinces due to the time change. The most enjoyable part of the job is every day is different and my coworkers are the best!

This position is a crash course in how to run a business in a short 4 month period. UFCP takes you through training and they mentor you on how to run a small painting business. The hours can be long, the responsibility is fairly high but the skills that I gained in business are amazing. You have to work hard and for those that do, can make some pretty good money and you get to control your schedule as a business owner. Its definitely not for a lot of people but for those with business or entrepreneurship ambitions then this is a great position. 

A typical work day is managing your crew and meeting with clients from 9-5pm. After you get your marketing crew going from 5-8pm. You can expect 12 hour days. It was a great experience to learn business.

DOWNSIDE- lots of hidden costs, head office is practically useless (ACCOUNTANT IS TERRIBLE) - you can charged a ton of fees that are irrelevant and unexplainable. Dealing with taxes is a huge hassle and its hard to reach the admin team. 
Management training and support is terrible. Don't expect any support - learn on your own..... they basically throw you to the wolves.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Show up to site. Set up home base. Do our walk around. Make a plan. Get tools and start. Lunch. Depending on job finish up or continue until stop time. Clean up. Check in with the boss. Head  to next job/home

Lots of hours, good management, enjoyable place to work for a summer. Hard work is rewarded with good wages. Typically work 6 days a week but all weather dependent. Chatting with other workers and conversing makes the day go by quickly. Fairly simple job to do and while the tasks can be repetitive, different challenges to be overcome at different sites to keep things interesting.

Every day is different working as a UFCP manager and that's what I enjoy most.
We have full reign of what we choose to do each day which allows me to live a life that I actually want to and am not told to do.

That being said we still have certain goals we aim to achieve and have a friendly competition environment to achieve them.

Great experience, really shapes you into a businessman.

Toxic. They only support indivuals who return. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Full 12 hour days. onsite, estimating, painting.

It was a good and fun job. we wouls wake up early and get to the job site before work started so we could get an idea of what we needed to accomplish for that day. A very fast paced but, very fun and physical.

If you enjoy working hands-on for your money, this job is well fit for you  

I will definitely be doing it next summer!!
