What is the best part of working at the company?
I have some wonderful colleagues and the university and surrounding area are small, so it's great if you don't like big cities.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Upper management and a lot of middle management needs to learn how to manage. Not having a pay raise for 13 years was stressful. Having my manager change my students' grades to suit her own purposes was stressful. Having the university spend millions and fight for five years to keep myself and my colleagues from being unionized like all the other instructors was stressful. Watching similar behaviour from management across campus was stressful. Being made complicit in the university's attempts to rip off students was stressful. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment at UPEI is toxic. Despite the past president and his VP lapdog being ousted, there remains a huge culture of distrust. And well it should because current management is currently going through a series of box-ticking exercises to make it look like they're trying to rectify the situation, but that is debatable.

It's a small university with a small minded approach.

It's a small university with a small minded approach and a true us and them attitude between management and staff/faculty. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
A culture of fear abounds... people are afraid to criticize for fear of reprisals. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I show up. Do my job. And leave as quickly as possible.

Worked from 9-5 full time, working with children teaching them life skills while having fun. Everyone I worked with was amazing, and it is a lot of fun. It is managed really well. The fun part of the job is new experiences everyday and the fast paced environment. The most enjoyable part is the people I work with and seeing the kids faces smile and knowing they're having fun, and that they are happy.

Helping out students doing the chemical experiments / answer question about calculating math related issues / supervising the lab / correcting the papers and assignments / cooperating with the instructor to operate the lap in a proper way / dumping the chemical solutions out in a safe way /

 I really enjoyed the learning and challenging environment at this job that really made me to become a better version of myself.

Keeping up with the continuous change due to semesters, students, etc.

Continue to ensure health and safety of students, faculty and staff.

Great Benefits,flexibility with hours ,  pay is more then minimum wage

It is great environment and a lot of different cultures

You clean your building you are given

During school years, I was hired as a student assistant in Recruitment and International Relations at UPEI. I usually helped international students about different types of VISAs, permits, health cards, or other benefits to aid a better and more comfortable stay in Canada, and also answered phone calls from all over the world about their applications.

This is a wonderful job for students looking for a job during the school year. I was able to work two evening shifts a week for a total of eight hours a week which was more then enough. The job allowed me to gain experience talking to people on the phone, however there were a lot of people who did not answer the phone or would hangup on me while I was talking.

I worked as a lab TA during my undergrad degree at UPEI. It provided me with great experience and skills that I can use in the future, either in a science based career or as a teacher. However, since it was a student position there was not much opportunity for advancement.

Typically would work on a few rooms with a group of about 3 people throughout the day. Some days had more some less. Generally, the workload wasn't too crazy and there were many days where we were all able to leave early as there was just no work to be had.
