The work that’s expected is wayyyyy more than the pay that’s provided. As kitchen staff, you are expected to do way more than anyone else working in the building. Everyone gets to go home earlier but kitchen staff have to make last minute orders, clean up the kitchen, make sure everything is in order and have a manager check the kitchen before being able to go home. Sometimes managers can take up to 30-40 minutes to check the kitchen which means you have to wait around until they do.

I applied as a host but I got there and was told I’d be a runner just for a couple days but continued to be scheduled as a runner. Being a runner is not worth the wage here as you are responsible for running food and drinks to theatres, as well as cleaning up after movies and washing dishes. Closing and opening are brutal as the dishes are usually piled up and there was never enough of us scheduled. Very tiring job but there is down time during the movies. 

Working as a runner at VIP Cineplex has been a decent experience. The job can get pretty busy, especially during peak hours, but it helped me improve my time management and communication skills. The team is generally friendly, and the work environment is okay. While it can be physically demanding at times, it’s a good entry-level position for gaining customer service experience and learning how to handle fast-paced situations..

The job is pretty easy but the management can suck. 

Most days it will be easy with almost nothing going on but when a new movie releases expect to be really busy and most of the time you will multitask.

working in this kind of environment is really fun and at the same time i am learning a lot of things in customer service. i improved and developed my skills in customer service, communication, interpersonal and my ability to work under pressure

Being a lounge server for VIP Cineplex Markham was by far the greatest experience of learning from an amazing team of dedicated individuals in achieving the same goal. We worked as a team of bartenders, culinary chefs and servers in bringing a phenomenal experience of dining in a theatre for guests.

The staff is very friendly 
the mangers and supervisor are always positive around everyone 
everyone is open to listen and opinions 
I have learned lots throughout this job like how to change a keg, how to make all different kinds

To work at cineplex was fairly enjoyable. I love the people I worked with. It just was not able to sustain living. The managers also kept adding jobs for the bartenders without anything in return. Overall it was a decent place to work.

A typical day at work is pretty dead, when new movies are released, especially blockbuster movies, you can expect an extremely busy shift. the hardest part of the job is finding something to do when there are no customers around.
