Vistek like any job has its ups and downs, unfortunately the location I was at had a lot of staff coming and going so there was always someone to replace and train. Staff is not properly trained, expect to learn on the job making errors as you go. Expect to vent about problems in store to managers and have head office ignore you and your managers. CEO does need to give all stores the same treatment, trying to overcome different obstacles that all locations have to ensure each store is successful- not just Toronto.

Expect to work all departments of the store, not just the area you were initially hired to work in. Under staffed locations especially. Do not receive a Saturday off unless requested well in advance.

Trying to get stock in can be a challenge, unfortunately this is due to the manufacturer/shipping from who knows where. In the end the staff suffers from complaints from customers. Staff gets in trouble for 'not communicating' to customers, however staff only has what our brand reps tell us.

Vistek can prosper as a company but the CEO needs to bring in the right kind of people to aid all locations. Ensure that stores aren't under staffed. Show your staff you appreciate them more than once a year for super late christmas parties, listen to complaints and ideas. Promote and give raises to encourage your staff to stay and work harder.

Worked at both GTA locations in photo and some video sales.  Terrible corp. management hinders the stores ability to do what they need to do.  Nepotism coupled with inexperience is killing vistek's business.  The micro-managaing owner is feared throughout the company, never a good sign (& quite a few harassment lawsuits have been brought against the owner). There is NO room for adavancement.  Over the years they've slowly been laying off the more experiened people (read: experience = higher pay) and replacing them with slighty above minimum wage, lower-commision, less experienced sales people.  OR keeping more tenured useless employees becuase the payout exceeds acceptable losses and the customer suffers as a result.

Worked here for several years, when I worked there the co-workers made the place enjoyable. There's a mix of young and old staff (with one particular OG hitting on all the young girls newly hired - and nothing gets done). Cliques are prevalent, but your likely to make a few quality friendships and learn lots - when it comes to employee appreciation - be prepared to be shown what the word expendable means. 

example: when they closed the store due to a snowstorm, I offered to let customers come to my home and pickup their rental equipment, I had people coming to my door up to 8pm. (I was never acknowledged for this effort). A few months later when I asked for a one time advance on wages/hours already worked - I was told to "manage my finances better".

You can make a lateral move pretty easily - but don't expect to move up the ladder. 

As a previous employee, I do NOT recommend working here unless you're desperate. Your day-to-day tasks are fairly easy once you get the hang of things, but there is absolutely no room for growth within this company. 

You are treated poorly from not only bad customers but also management/HR. During the entire COVID situation, employees were ghosted for months and had no updates or support from the company. 

There is no formal training involved. A lot of the learning is either from previous employees who have only been there for x amount of time or during trial and error when you deal with your own customers.

Avoid working here if you don't want a toxic work environment. 



This work place is based off the buisness to buisness aspect of sales in the digital market. In a day I would deal with many levels or responsibilities which range from sales to repairs, client services to retention. One thing I feel is management needs direction from higher up, It stems from the top but the workplace is great. The people there are amazing to work with but lack focus due to lack of direction given.

It's a fast paced workplace where managers and staff are focused on great customer service.  The hiring and interview team make the interviews stress free and the process for joining the company very easy.  The systems can be a little difficult to learn initially but set up of equipment was good.  The culture is changing, many people love what they do and the teams that they work with while some others are critical.  I've learned a lot in my short time here and enjoy the fast pace.

Good work culture and environment for people. I also want to mention the support provided by upper management and HR  specially Lee-Ann, is fantastic. So many positive changes has been occurred to company in recent years.  

The place is ok. People are friendly but the pay is really bad. It is hard to deal with the Management because every two years there is a difference manager and some managers are so difficult to deal with, everything two years there some different characters to deal with. 

No incentive for long term employment there.
Must work Saturdays as a runner. It's not a warehouse; it's an underground bunker underneath the store via elevator with no windows in the warehouse.
Very depressing.

 It's an odd work environment as the building is quite old. The warehouse is located in the basement of the building. I was only there a short time but most of the employees were bland and management was weak. I would only recommend working there if you specifically have an interest in cameras. La
