Owners and management lack proper communication and do not listen to their staff. I was in a management role for two years with this company. I was smart enough to document everything when I started to realize something was off. In my particular situation I did take my concerns to upper management and the result? Nothing just ignored. There is a tremendous amount of stress in my position because management simply would not take me seriously. I ended up walking out. Some locations was run as a social club. If you aren’t in the club, you won’t last. It’s a terrible place to work and management is hardly paid enough at all considering what is expected of you. Anyone with a work ethic is run into the ground.
When you get interviewed they ask if you know there mandates like, love people and building long term relationships, etc. Don't believe it, it's no true at all. Only if you are in there "friend circle" you will be ok.
Also, massive favoritism by upper management. 
If you ever end up talking to there controller, have fun with that, way too long winded for a yes or no questions, talks in a condescending tone even though he tries to hide it, and the horror stories her from the other people I have talked with about him.
Lastly you don't get paid a working wage for what you do. Instead of increasing wages so turn around isn't so high and people will feel more appreciated, they go and build a new store. Building new store not building long term relationships is there moto. Go above and beyond equals to a pat on the head. They encourage hiring the best people for the lease amount of money so don't expect much from this company. They might give some things away and have a xmas party at the fancy place but we need to live especially in this economy and if you want to live decently don't get a job here, you'll be better off else where.

Vita Health claims to care about “long term relationships” but this could not be further from the truth. 
They treat employees as if they are disposable. They would rather hire new employees constantly then invest in their current employees.
There is also only one person doing the payroll who is also considered HR which is ridiculous considering they can’t even do payroll correctly half the time, nevermind being able to deal properly with employee issues. 
For such a large company with 6 stores and over 300 employees, you’d think they would have a proper HR system in place.
They also used our vacation days for days that they chose to be closed, which is completely wrong and I’m sure they could get into a lot of trouble for doing so. On top of that, they constantly change our hours, delete shifts with a days notice and ignore availability. 
They also play favorites with older employees who are completely unqualified for the positions they are given like management and “shift supervisors”.
There are great staff who work here, don’t get me wrong, and this could be an amazing company, however they really seem to not care about anything except for money and make it very obvious.
The mental and physical health of their staff doesn’t seem to matter to them and it’s quite disappointing for a health food store to conduct business this way.

I've worked here for over a year, the staff I work with are amazing, and make walking through those doors every morning a blessing and new adventure. The customer basis is incredible, they are diverse and driven people who wish to improve their lives through healthy foods and lifestyles. The company owner is a great guy who truly cares about his company, he brings a professional yet open mindset to the life within the walls of his locations. I have learned more than I ever expected while working here, everything from chickens, to herbal medicine, all the way back to sustainable agriculture. Vitahealth hosts multiple Dinner trainings a month to ensure that the staff all have equal opportunity to advance their product knowledge and overall health. My two bosses are both remarkable human beings, and bring a positive vibe to every task that presents itself. They are always open to new ideas and ensure a perfect balance of synergy and productivity through a relaxed flowing environment. We provide avid knowledge of supplements, organic foods, environmentally friendly products, health restricted foods, and much more based around improving health.

I worked at 2 stores and I loved it! They’re very easy going and super understanding. Every manger I met there has been easy to talk to and enjoys making professional relationships with their employees. They owner of the company is also a very nice person! I never feel over worked and they always recognized my success there. I would 100% go back if the opportunity came. Also I think some of the negative reviews are like that because they got fired or were bad workers. It’s honestly a great environment and the perfect place for a first job. 

Started off ok, but that changed fast. Management and owner are terrible, they lack effective communication and have zero empathy for their employees. The way they dealt with covid was an absolute joke. If you ever get a raise it will be 5 cents. You are expected to cross train and learn many things but there is no incentive for this. Very understaffed. 

There are some perks to working here but upper management really doesn’t seem to care about the employees. Everything is really unorganized and turnover is high. Very cliquey environment, a lot of internal gossip. Everything seems backwards. The reviews here are pretty accurate. It seems good at the start but that’s only until you have a problem that needs solving. Get everything in writing. 

Employees are paid minimum wage and raises are never "in the budget". Staff expected to go above and beyond and provide advice on supplements to customers when they aren't trained or compensated fairly. There is high turnover for a reason, this company greenwashes itself and prides itself in being "sustainable" but corporate does not care about any of that, only profits.

Horrible company, employees have no say and work isn’t decided evenly. Older staff are rude and bullies, they lie to customers and will write you up for little things. Can’t trust managers because they all talk bad about staff and each other. They are horrible at training, if you want to know anything you have to do it yourself. One of the worst jobs I’ve ever had.

I was subjected to a toxic enviroment. They do not follow the law regarding human rights, safe work enviroments, food regulations. They have made fraudulent  statements to recruit employees. Those who are currently or planning on working there, please keep track of all paper work, verbal promises and get as much a possible in writing.
