VMC is a great place to work for the first year and a bit. But once you adjust to the mentality of a large number of your coworkers, you'll quickly realize that this is a place where people will often get stuck. 

Though it's very easy to get into this company, it is extremely difficult to advance within. A lot of the time, promotions are given to friends of leadership, causing a huge conflict of interest issue to ripple throughout any application process. The incredibly low salary that the majority of the workforce here earns makes a promotion seem worthless. Sure, you'll get promoted and have a lot more responsibilities, but is it really worth the 50 cent raise the company is willing to give you? 

All-in-all, it's a good place to start and get your foot in the door, but don't get trapped. Get out as soon as you have the option to.

Overall I really enjoy working at VMC. The people are young, but very nice, and there's the opportunity to test all kinds of video games. It has an open office atmosphere.

Works hours vary from 7am - 3 or 3:30 pm, 9-5 or overnight shifts depending on the job you have.

The most enjoyable part about this job is how much fun it can be.

The least enjoyable part is that you're hired on a contract basis. Projects can last anywhere from a few months to a year (maybe more for bigger titles), and the quality of your work, you being constantly being evaluated determines if you'll remain on a team or put on call or fired.

• Better than Babel because once you're on a project you stay there until it ends (they don't email you your schedule nightly)

A typical day at work consists of repetitve tasks from 9-5. Depending on which position you start there isnt any benefits unless you pay for them.At the site I was at, the only way to get benefits was to ask for deductions from weekly pay. Missing out on the first month of not accepting the benefit, you lose dental plus the gym membership isnt free.There isn't much freedom to working here either daily work hours are 7.5  and lunch isn't paid.

You will never have many guarantees at all out of this job:
Contracts often run month to month. Even if you somehow achieve permanence: The benefits package is over-priced and almost worthless to take up. The company will be making two to three times as much money off your services while refusing to offer much more than a dollar above minimum wage. Companies like these cheapen the market for young workers entirely, and often become traps with their false promise of new opportunities. Fully expect to see the company fire all employees in a single day simply to force a re-signing of new and less friendly contracts.

Working at VMC is a good gig temporarily, but no place to plan a career. It's a good entry level job that will give you the experience you need to move on to bigger and better things. The work environment is relaxed and people are easy to get along with. Management is almost never around, I've been there for two years and never even met some of them.

I worked at VMC Game Labs full-time more than a year. The most horrible experience ever...

- Minimal salary, shameless favoritism, no benefits (they will force you to pay Manulife insurance from your own pocket), 

- One of the leads was unable to handle a conflict situation in the team - as a result one of the employee was hospitalized right from the working place with an occupational burnout.

- HR is a center of rumors, multiply cases of violations of their own internal VOLT policies.

My coworker and some of the managers are great to work with. Unfortunately as a Language Live Game Operation, there are no advancement opportunities. 
Too much red tape and politics, but this is expected of a vendor company for a much larger and profitable one. The most enjoyable part of the job is working alongside my colleagues. The office is getting crowded as the launch of a new product is coming.

Easy job for people with no experience.
Pays low. Temporary job.
It is a fun job. Customer support for video games. 
The staff and colleagues are very nice and helpful.  
I do not regret my time there!

Great ideas and team spirit but constantly burdened by all of the common bureaucratic issues that come with faraway bosses demanding fine attention to detail but providing none of the tools to actually do so.

There is a lot of shifts offered by this company and a lot of employees as well. 
I learned how to test a game in a proper ways. 
My co-workers here are supporting each others because mostly here I work in a team-based.
