In my opinion, my time working in the Abbotsford offices at Valley Driving School was initially a positive experience but unfortunately did not last long. Management within the hub is poor with little to no interest in taking feedback from their employees. Management has cliques and will talk behind your back at any given moment creating a pretty toxic environment. Your same level coworkers there are really the only saving grace for this place.

Career: Promised opportunity to grow and told that "with more responsibility comes more pay", but will quickly finding that your responsibility list grows exponentially faster than your paycheque. Along with this they firmly don't believe in job titles (as told by my manager) which I personally believe they use to justify the lower pay and is one of the top signifiers for a toxic work place. On top of that they will not pay you overtime but will give the sense that they expect it if you're stuck on the phone or in a chat at the end of your shift. They tell you to come in later or leave earlier the next day to compensate while leaving it off of the schedule.

Ethics: Respected instructors are overworked and underpaid with last minute cancellations being charged to students yet the company refuses to pay their instructor even if they were moments before the lesson. They claim the instructor will need to come into the office since they shouldn't be paid for doing nothing yet the company itself gets to take the full cost of a lesson which comes to about $183 when providing no actual value. I strongly recommend they change this policy but I would not expect that from them. Their instructors are the life blood of the company and working closely with them you can feel their frustration.

In my opinion I would highly suggest steering clear of this place. There are other jobs out there that pay similar and don't ask nearly as much of you.

This company to start off working for was wonderful, however it went downhill very fast. I wouldn’t recommend this company due to the culture and the treatment of employees from other employees. 

Very divided work group between the phone team and the LiveChat team. No communication between the two different divisions, and overall a poor work environment. They refuse to give overtime and make you leave early the next day in that pay period. Monday-Friday except for the multiple Saturdays a month they make you work as well. So you get 6 days in a row of working some weeks, and don’t get overtime!

Fun work environment however, and they do have yearly get togethers! The benefits are good as well, they pay part of your gym membership too.

No wage increase without a fight
Worked 9 hours a day for 5 days a week and not a penny in overtime.
Cut off medical benefits to staff the day they gave notice.
Mass exodus of long time staff in the last 2 -3 years. 
They will lie cheat and steal to get what they want. They expect max loyalty from staff and give zero in return.

I'm an office worker so my daily job is primarily focused on customer interactions through calls and live chats, my days are a dynamic blend of problem-solving, empathy, and technical expertise.

The constant influx of calls and chats can be overwhelming at times. Effective time management and prioritization are essential. Dealing with frustrated or angry customers can be emotionally draining. It's important to maintain composure and empathy, even in difficult situations.

Who: Yourself and all Staff, Friendly, Supportive.
What: Instructing those in need of support, being patient and communicating Clearly Concisely.
When: Hours for the most part have been stable, and there are a variety of different ways you could set up your schedule. 
Where: Valley operates in different locations across the lower mainland. Usually in one or two postal codes.
Why: You are Passionate about making a meaningful difference in peoples lives. If you want to make a lot of money, open your own school instead.
How: Patience, and active listening, 

I love working with Valley. The managers and mentors are always willing to listen and try to help with any questions or issues that you have. They have complete paid for training to help you prepare for your new job, and support as you are getting started.

 It is very rewarding going through the steps of teaching a brand new driver who has never sat in the driver's seat, to become a safe and confident driver who can pass their roadtest.

I enjoy the flexibility of my schedule too.

Everyday you come to work you always learn something new. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Teaching new drivers how to drive is a very rewarding experience. It really makes you feel great that you have made a difference in someone's life. The hours are very flexible. The management takes the time to listen to your concerns and they act accordingly. The work culture is very positive and everyone is always smiling. This really is an amazing job.

Dr. instructor is not A job, it has to be your passion. Do you have respect for people and the law? Then you might love this career. Office staff are very committed to helping both clients and field employees ASAP. The company is outstanding, trying best in making our roads safer and teaching new drivers to think behind the wheel. Some people stayed with Valley for decades, many for years... But not every fish swims in warm waters, some need cold and it's ok.

Even in times of pandemic this company worked to keep people working and paid. Open to growth and learning and fostering evolution! The staff care deeply about clients and fellow colleagues. A ton of wisdom in the people who work here. Valley Driving School works to learn from and teach clients & staff.
