Valley Regional Hospital

Working at Valley Regional Hospital was hands down the worst experience I have ever had in terms of jobs. I worked there as an entry level nurse and was completely blind sided by not only management, but the facility as a whole. I felt I had no support, and that the only thing anyone ever cared about was “keeping business as usual.” If you’re going to work in the Annapolis Valley, I recommend anywhere but here (I.e. Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Hants Community Hospital, ANY nursing home). 

No support when injured and paid into benefits!!! At a hospital!!! Worked using a cane and still expected to completed my daily tasks. Not all employees treated equally, no supervision when staff not doing their work, expected to help coworkers complete their daily duties when they had sat around and watched me work! Systems within need an overhaul. 

Very fast paced business.  Interacting with patients and coworkers.
Insuring all information is correct and up-to-date.  Learning your job and following procedures.  Knowing where patients need to be and directing them to that area.  The hardest part of this position is dealing with dissatisfied patients, the most enjoyable is getting to meet new people and making a positive impact on their day.

Long, Hot, Tiring, Stressful, Sickening

Fast-paced and friendly administrative environment. Half-day finance administration, plus half-day operating and developing printing department. Systems and procedures improvements welcomed and supported.

I have not worked in a place that was so well organized. I also feel that management respected the staff and treated them very well.I miss my job at the Valley Regional and recommend it as a great place to work to all of my nursing family.

this was a job that I had before returning to college. The environment was good however sometimes the other employees would get caught up in others lives and business which would make it tense sometimes

I was an assistant lab technician for approximately a year.  When my hours were decreased I looked for employment elsewhere. I prefer not to review this workplace as it does not apply to the position I am applying for.

hard work,little help or guidance from management, i have learned time management there is bad job attitude culture ,hardest part 12 hour shift, best part is some employees with good attitude

There are mostly part-time positions available but most times short staffed so there are no lack of hours. They will tell you, you will have full-time hours and they are serious!
