Valleyhaven could be a great place to work . Management was extremely hard to deal with, employees were regularly short staffed in an unsafe manner yet expected to complete the workload, some employees worked as a team but it was dependent on which floor you worked on, the activity department is suffering as the company will not provide a reliable bus to transport the seniors therefore limiting their outings etc. Overall, Valleyhaven is stressful and they don't appreciate their staff

Some staff are nit picky and consistently complain about minor things, very stressful to work with
Most staff are great to work with and very helpful
Staff to resident ratio 7-10, more if short staffed which is more and more common
Lots of opportunities for overtime
Full line shuffle happens every few years

 the residents are well taken care of but the management doesn't care at all about the staff. Unless you are a nurse you are no body. The cleaners and kitchen staff get treated poorly. You can not get a day off or vacation time without a struggle. They have staff appreciation meals that the kitchen staff has to make for everyone else then they get the leftovers. Not a place many good workers stay for long.

Work on your own and if 99% is done well you will hear about the 1% that wasn’t. Short staffed, petty back stabbing culture that is fuelled by management and the owner, that come from a place of financial gain rather than true care of other human beings. 19 dollars an hour compared to Fraser health that is over 25 and easier. Very poor morale. 

Very cozy feel at this facility. I loved the floor I worked on…we all worked as a team. The residents were lovely and it was a very homey feel at this facility.

This company is not a good place to work if you want to feel appreciated or valued. You are treated like you are never doing good enough job. You tell the management what’s happening and they don’t help you. They lie to the families and want us to lie too. No one works here and is happy.

The job is nice but I was mislead when I was hired. This is only a casual job. I was told when I was hired that it was a full time job. Employees were on holiday or recovering from health issues when I started so it was full-time hires but in a few weeks I am casual. 

This was a great job, just very poor management. I loved working with the residents and enjoyed making there life happy. Staff was excellent upper management was very hard to deal with.

Great seeing all the residents smile, fun activities and staff breakfasts, barbecues, pizza lunches, ice cream trucks, food trucks for all residents staff and families

Great place to work! The management is very caring and job environment is quite relaxed. I would recommend this a great place to start out your career as lots of room for advancement.
