A typical day included review of outstanding problems, and assignment of them to available engineers

I learned how to manage andR&D program.

Management was 2000 miles away in Toronto and left me alone

Culture was North American, and dedicated to delivering perfect, customized solutions.

Hardest part was at the end, when they wanted me to transition to service mode, and spend all my time on the road.  I quit.

Creating perfect software is highly satisfying.  We shipped custom solutions to factories in North America, and never had problems arise after delivery.

I helped my internal competitor in Toronto once by creating a hardware driver for his solution.  He was so impressed with my professionalism, that we became friends for life.

Company will not increase the salary to valuable workers, rather will hire new employees with no experience and give a higher salary. No growing opportunities. A lot of employees are treated as KPI.

Good working environment, great colleagues, the working hours are flexible, the companies culture prone for the health fitness, we have a small gym and aeorobic instructors that come to the office 3x per week.

Was a nice place to work, but it was a place where people had a high work safety and didn't worry about loosing their jobs. It was a sales role with no commission. People stayed there because they where risk adverse.

It is a big company so that you will learn from them. But upper management is poor, they don't treat or keep people well. Beside that salary is competitive and good for paper and pulp industry experience.

Poor management in charge remotely and unqualified team leaders. They don't even operate with the minimum industry standards for there employees. Do not apply 

A typical week involved customer visits organizing quotes and follow up on customer concerns.  The work place culture was good.   I worked from a home-based office.

People are nice and it might not be organized but it does not matter when the place is soo great with such nice friendly people. Flexible work schedule.
