Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I decided to return to this business back in August and boy what a mistake. Training at this oil can Henry's was horrible. I stood around for three hours waiting for the manager to stop playing on his phone and to start putting my info in so I would get paid. After that , he didn't have any of the training books needed or any of the proper paper work for me to fill out . I stood around for nearly 8.5 hours doing nothing . Then towards the end of the day , I assisted with the fill up of some diesel fuel additive.(DEF fluid)  Three jugs at 2.5 gallons a piece. The person training me wrote them up for 4 At 19.99 a piece.  When I asked about it they joked about it and said it helps out with inventory. (This was the managers word for word!) I was floored. After seeing your competition get busted for ripping people off just weeks earlier then seeing this. I wanted nothing to do with a company that does this . 

Being a former assistant manager for Valvoline in Rhode Island , I would have never put up with this type of employee nor a manager that condones this behavior.  Ashland needs to clean house of the oil can Henry's chain. You loose good people that want to do honest work due to the lack of a good management team .

When your busy your busy you have one half hour lunch that’s it it’s non stop from the moment you get in there. For a lube tech job the pay is good if you move up their ladder, if you don’t move up their ladder you get fired, if you try to move to fast up their ladder you get written up. They promise you a career path and I have seen it work but that’s only if the area manager has a day free that month. The store I was at was great but we were the black sheep upper management hardly came around they were too busy at all the pretty, new, ground up stores even tho ours was the busy store in much need of repairs that would never get done If you have a good manager perfect but there are a few in the company that are quite two faced. You are expected to work till the cars stop coming wether you had plans or not they expect people to put this job before everything and it’s not right. You get raises by working up their ladder not by being a hard worker 

Doesn't matter if you work 10x harder than the next guy, if he/she shows interest in becoming a manager and delegating tasks you can bet yourself they're going to get paid more than you. Company does not care about the work you do unless your sales are dropping or you literally blow up somebodies car. You get 1 raise when you're promoted to senior technician and then your wage is stagnant, maybe a $0.30 raise annually to "keep up" with inflation.

You are going to apply for full time and get part time hours , never 8 in a day , cap is 7 but on occasion it will be 4-6 hours and if it’s above 5 hours it’s mandatory you take a lunch to make it 5 hours , can’t clock in 2 mins early , understandable but if you clock out late they clip that down 
And don’t take a lunch ?no problem, they will cut out half an hour of your time anyway 

Colleagues, floor managers, are just racist and idiots. They just harass people. As I've newly joined just a month ago, they don't even talk or clearly communicate with me nicely. The just over pressurize and harass any new comer. Even don't listen to us. Only main SCM is good natured and neutral. But senior technicians, assistant managers all are toxic. 

I recently visited Valvoline for an oil change, and I had a great experience from start to finish. The service was fast and efficient – I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, explaining the different oil options available for my vehicle and helping me choose the best one for my needs. They also provided a quick vehicle inspection and made sure everything was running smoothly.

Manager can be alright but pushes you to make a quota for sales which is stressful and causes you to push things on customers that they don’t need. Can also be very slow even after you have cleaned bathrooms, cleaned the floor, and stocked shelves.  

If you are a hard working person, this company fits for you.just do your job with enjoyment,love your job,be positive in always you do,just be yourself doing your job,employees who are working here is friendly and always help you as long us they are available..

Good overall place to work but there is no room for advancement. I am stuck at my position and I have no way to improve myself or my career, thus the reason I am looking for a new career

Business is focused heavily on maintaining its declining business across B2C and B2B markets. Overall burden by a declining market environment for its products. This does not offer a positive work environment or any opportunity to grow.
