YVR is yet to build/cultivate the culture of giving and receiving feedback, more often there is a lot sensitivity and people rather talk behind your back or to your manager than to you (to me it's childish and people should be able to resolve minor conflicts or misunderstanding on their own before it brought up to a manager, it's being able to communicate behaviour that was demonstrated and an impact it had on employee).
Didn't find the place to be that supportive and inclusive or culturally acceptable due to our difference.

U S Immigration Officer at a major (pre-clearance) foreign location. Inspected people seeking admission into the United States at an airport environment. Interviewed passengers, inspected passports, and merchandise, referred passengers to Immigration secondary or Customs secondary inspection. This job demanded long hours at work. Working in a foreign location demanded a lot of liaison with foreign Immigration Officers, foreign Customs Officers, and foreign Law Enforcement Officers. Very good experience. Again the most enjoyable part of the day was when it was time to go home.

Good company to work the moment I entered the terminal, their presence was noticeable—professional, calm, and efficient. The officers were polite yet thorough, maintaining safety without causing unnecessary delays. I appreciated how clearly they communicated instructions, especially during the screening process. Their attention to detail was impressive, and they managed large crowds with ease and courtesy. What stood out most was their friendly attitude; even under pressure, they remained approachable and respectful, which made the security check far less stressful than expected. It’s clear they’re well-trained and take their

The amount of passengers can be overwhelming at times.

Supportive and friendly staff and supervisors. Always willing to help and teach. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fast paced and a little hectic. But if you enjoy that kind of environment, it’s perfect.

Too much demand - too heavy work load in certain areas. 
Cant say anymore then this without having to give out certain confidential information.  I loved working with my manager, whom i reportedly directly. This individual understood the challenges and tried to make it more efficient but was not able to convince his superior of the shortfall.

I have been work in the YVR Airport for 8 months ago.Mostly I worked like cleaning the airplane,prepared the seat and made security check for safety in the airplane area.I can work under pressure,independently,sociable and motivation.I can work as a teamwork with my co-worker.The hardest part of my job was my night shift because I must go home until 04 am.The most enjoyable part of my job was making a  friendship from the word's people.

strong culture internal, covid period affected the business. Highly bureaucratic internal process and departments that matches as a large company, non-profit organization. meetings and daily activities as scheduled most of the times that some of the meetings occur weekly, biweekly and monthly.
Necessary to oversee the crew team members frequently to discuss the issues, the improvements and what they need to perform the activities and roles.

The management is amazing, they have very flexible hours and this really helps me a lot since I am still in school. Passenger's can be overwhelming sometimes due to flights coming in together at the same time, but with the help of everyone including the managers everything runs smoothly. The most enjoyable part of my job is when i see passenger's smile even though they are frustrated from their long flights.
