A typical day can range from slow enough that you're desperate to find something to make yourself look busy so the manager doesn't start breathing down your neck, to so busy that you will not have a chance to take your breaks. The workload is completely unpredictable and whether you're working as hard as you can because it's busy or taking it a bit easy because it's slower, the manager will never be pleased with your performance.

It used to be a decent place to work with a solid team of employees and relatively little workplace drama but several people quit due to disagreements with the new manager, and the warehouse is plagued by a perpetual staffing shortage.
After a change in management, there was a massive push to try and transform the warehouse into a more Amazon-like environment which means that everyone is expected to take on additional duties and extra work, but are reprimanded for ever working overtime. The unspoken expectation is that you do all the extra work but shouldn't be compensated extra for it.

The hardest part of the job is trying to get your work done while being micro-managed every second of the day and being told that you should be doing your job differently than you've been doing it for 10 years by someone who has never done the job before. You're told you should be completing a week's worth of work in two days because arbitrary data points say so.

The most enjoyable part of the job used to be the coworkers but many have been forced out and the ones left over are stressed out and miserable all the time.

Without interpersonal skills the people with management positions in this company are incapable of motivating any one, even the hardest workers(like me) can't expect a simple "Good Job" or any verbal ecouragement what-so-ever so im primarily motivated by my desire to get away from those people. I've worked in large warehouses before where a labourer can't expect any real one on one encouragement but this is a small warehouse with only a few workers and its still the same as a large warehouse(very frustrating).
The glass handling is very hard on my hands,wrists, and shoulders so im eager to get an new job that doesn't cause the damage that handling glass does.I do enloy the 9-5 work day and the warehouses central location. Thank You For Your Consideration

worked with vanfax for about a year in a half, worse place to work, had trouble with other employees not working and just standing around, told supervisor she said I know and just do your job and I will deal with it but nothing gets done and other people have to work harder to get things done. management is no good,  don't care about anything just themselves. No moving up in company. Pay not bad and benefits ok. but not worth the struggle and stress. When you work your 80 hrs and every second sat, you think that it is OT hrs but it's not it is regular hrs.

My day began at 8 am, came in picked orders for the day depending on the route, and when loaded, began the delivery process. We were also responsible to picking up returns, and did so as we delivered recent orders. When back at the warehouse at the end of the run, we would do warehouse clean up and receive new orders. I enjoyed working here, and left on good terms. I am still in touch with my old manager, he was a great guy, very professional but made me laugh. 

The degree of work changed daily which made it more satisfying.  Learned the importance of team work in a work setting as well as how important organization was to everything you do.  Due to the range of work there were many personalities and it gave me an opportunity to learn how to deal with a variety of people.  The most challenging part of the job would have to be delivering goods while maintaining safety procedures in poor weather.  The most enjoyable part was the feeling of being part of a productive team.

I don't recommend working at Vanfax. The crew is not encouraging, nor helpful. As a former employee who bent over backwards to do the job they do not recognize a hard worker when they have one. The crew gossips, they also try to make your work days as difficult as possible like it's some sick satisfaction they get from ruining your day. rarely will you see a promotion or wage increase. It's more afternoon shift (10am-6pm), not bad, but might throw you off. The employee's and management are very immature. I don't recommend.

I worked there for 15 months through all the covid, and was treated terrible. I was left in the warehouse alone to do all of the shipping/receiving, customer pickups, and put away 1000s of pounds worth of inventory coming in the form of windshields every single week. They didn’t give me the specific training you need to operate certain equipment there, I just learnt on my own. Management is nonexistent, and doesn't help. Don’t waste time in your life here. I found a better job instantly after being done. 

I worked there for three years, and was basically treated with boarderline harassment on the daily. Management is nonexistent, and doesn't help anyone with anything. (Useless) unless you want him to bring wracking down with a forklift. You may be accused of stealing from time to time. I literally broke my back for this company only to be given the "next" mentality. Very disappointed with this company and advise against employment here. You will be treated terribly.

Employers are very helpful and, they are  always ready to help their employees.

Not a single work task of this company is stressful, and employers always there to support. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is very safe, everyone follows the safety protocols.

Almost everyone is friendly and willing to help you if you ask (even between departments). Handling windshields so it’s a physical job but that’s to be expected (it’s a warehouse job). The pay is better than a lot of other companies that I have worked for in the past. Management and lead hands are all great people and easy to talk to about anything. Over all 👍👍.
