The summer camp was meant to be a positive and enjoyable experience, but it became unfair and discouraging because of the coordinators. They often showed favoritism, enforcing rules strictly for some staff and campers while ignoring the same behavior from others. Expectations were unclear and constantly changing, which made it difficult to feel confident or supported. When concerns were raised, coordinators frequently dismissed them or placed blame instead of listening and addressing the issues. Their communication was often disrespectful, creating a tense and uncomfortable environment. Activities and schedules were poorly organized, yet responsibility was pushed onto others when things went wrong. Rather than offering guidance or teamwork, the coordinators relied on criticism and unfair discipline. This lack of professionalism and accountability negatively affected the overall atmosphere of the camp, turning what should have been a fun summer into a frustrating and disappointing experience for many involved.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Taught at Vanier College for over 30 years. A very good experience. In the Industrial Automation field. Was Chairman of Student Faculty Relations committee for over 10 years, voted in by the department to look after possible problems between students and teachers within the dept. Would prefer to work in helping students using my Masters Degree in Counselling Education

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
A very good job being a teacher at Vanier College for over 30 years. Would like to substitute teach or to interact with students in some way

Very positive . Former students from years ago sometimes still contact me

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Teaching and preparing lessons and interacting with students and faculty

I was born in China and grew up speaking Chinese. Therefore, Chinese is my mother tongue. The February 2016 would be a great step in my life; I received a job offer as a Mandarin tutor from the Languages & Cultures department at Vanier College. Now, I tutored already Mandarin three semesters and taught four different people. This experience permitted me to examine Mandarin from a different perspective; that of a non-Chinese trying to learn this unique language. I discovered that Mandarin is a very hard language, but nevertheless original and fun. The different nationalities and personalities of my tuttees permitted me to compare mandarin with other languages and to approach Chinese cultures from different angles. In conclusion, being a Mandarin tutor would help me greatly to become a good pedagogue.

Volunteering for special needs adults was a great experience, I was a volunteer that came to see the adults two days a week  and my goal was to get to know them, feed them healthy snacks during snack time, get to know them better and have conversations and participate  in their daily activities, the most enjoyable part of volunteering was to get to know each and every one of them! They all have different personalities and they are all great people! I love participated in arts and craft, dancing, movies, singing, and even eating with them during lunchtime! All volunteers were phenomenal, they are all loving people who had big hearts and loved to help others!

It's a non-profit volunteer work that I did. I was not paid for helping around.

I simply make sure that the people with "down" syndrome do their daily tasks according to expectations. Everyone is nice and friendly, I always go there with a smile on my face, for they are happy to see me as much as I am happy to see them.

I volunteered with other students there, all for free. 

I learned to be more visual, for I need to make sure that they do their work properly. I need to be patient because it is not always easy to come to an understanding with people with "down" syndrome, it also happens that you have to ask them to repeat themselves multiple times what they have previously said.

It really is discouraging when you find out that you get paid less than someone else to do the same work. Well that is what goes on in the CEGEP system. The Full time Day teachers get treated best and have job security. The hourly teachers get paid less for doing the same job. An non- credit course get paid the worst. I taught computer software and the labs were always minimum standards. Of all things they would not give us decent chairs. Yeah, I kid you not.

The school preselection level was terrible low. Some student was not ready for higher education. The Quebec francophone elementary school system was not able to provide basic mathematical skills, for their students, for higher education. The gap is too big. 
Missing the basic logic development, and many other things.

I participated in several projects for the school. My teacher is the one who informed us of the position and those interested got hired. I liked that I could get some experience during school and the pay was really good. The only thing is that we got paid a long time after the projects were done, like a month which is why I removed a star but other than that it was great.

The school was a well organized institute to prepare the students, not only specific studies, but wide based subjects. The goal was to use this wide base mainly math, physic, chemistry (science)  for a change a later day. The students need a strong base, to adopt themselves at our rapidly changing world.

I was a phone representative for the student helpline during registration periods.  Every day would start at 8:30am and would entail answering the phone all day answering questions that students would have about registration and helping them learn the Cegep system.  Absolutely loved this job, and the people I worked with.
