A typical sales rep work day is showing up at the office for the daily training and development meetings everyday M-F at 12:00 and Saturdays at 9:00AM.

On Tuesdays they bring in guest speakers from different industries. Usually successful entrepreneurs or people who have excelled in their fields. 

After the daily training meeting, they set daily sales goals with everyone, and then all the sales reps car-pool out to different neighbourhoods where they then knock on doors to sell pest control services. 

When I first started with Vantage, I was confused why they sell pest control services, it seemed kind of strange to me. In practice, it's a service that lots of homeowners need and will buy, not that hard to sell - making a sales or two every day is very realistic for most people, if you're willing to work hard and really dedicate yourself to the job for the whole summer.

Vantage paid for my housing and I lived with a bunch of other university aged sales reps, in apartments that the company arranged and paid for.

When I first did it they had sales minimums for the housing to be paid for, but now they pay for it without any minimum sales quota, so long as you're working for them in the summer. 

There is a TON of opportunity for advancement. I've seen several co-workers have a good first summer selling, and then the following year be promoted to a manager, and earn over $75,000 in their second season working with Vantage. Some more, some less, for sure, because the manager positions are performance based pay, just like the sales rep job.

Downside is that there's no hourly, it's a commission only contractor position. Upside is that there is no max on summer pay, I've seen rookies make over $50,000 in their first summer. I've also seen sales reps start, and quit the job 4 days later, and make zero dollars. It's a challenging job, and one that take focus, discipline, and thick skin. Not for the faint of heart, and definitely not for everyone. 

Overall, I'd recommend that if you're considering Vantage, you go into it with eyes wide open. Amazing management team, tons of opportunity for promotion/advancement, but it's a hard job - if you're looking for something that you can show up after a long night out, just put in your hours and then go home and expect to make $20,000 in a summer, this might not be the right job.

You'll need to study, train, prepare, and put in a day of hard work every single day - In my experience, the key to success in a summer sales rep job with Vantage is consistency, tenacity and thick skin.

Working at Vantage Marketing, primarily a door-to-door sales role with commission-based pay, presented a unique set of challenges. Each day involved canvassing neighborhoods and engaging potential customers, a task that required persistence and resilience. However, the lack of a structured approach and minimal guidance from management made this already demanding job even more difficult.

The learning curve was steep, with most skills acquired through on-the-job experience rather than formal training. The company's atmosphere, reminiscent of a multi-level marketing scheme, prioritized recruitment over actual sales skills development. This approach not only hindered professional growth but also raised questions about long-term sustainability and ethics.

Management's distant approach and the company's vague communication further contributed to a disengaged workplace culture. The provided housing, intended as a benefit, was below standard, adding to the overall sense of disregard for employee well-being. Additionally, the reliance on commission for income led to financial instability, especially troubling given the inconsistent nature of door-to-door sales.

Despite these hurdles, the role did offer the opportunity to meet a wide array of people, honing interpersonal and sales skills in a real-world setting. This aspect of the job, although challenging, was enriching and provided some respite from the otherwise taxing environment. Overall, while the position at Vantage Marketing offered some sales experience, it was marred by organizational disarray, lackluster management, and financial unpredictability.

I have had the privilege of working within a highly productive management team at Vantage, where the workplace culture is truly exceptional. Engaging with diverse individuals on a daily basis has been not only enjoyable but also instrumental in enhancing my sales skills and communication proficiency. The professional atmosphere is characterized by a collective commitment to excellence, with every team member demonstrating kindness and a willingness to provide assistance whenever needed. The management system is notably supportive, complemented by effective training programs that have significantly contributed to my professional development. Overall, Vantage has fostered an environment of professionalism and collaboration, making it a rewarding workplace experience.

Yes! The job is hard. Yes! It can get challenging.

Just like any other job, it has it's challenges. But in my experience, I found the learning, benefits, and the opportunity for growth to vastly outweigh any of the drawbacks.

Their sales training is very complete, structured, and practical. I never felt like I was on my own, or stranded. The culture at the company always encourages every individual to grow, and for the team to get close to one another.

Plus, the work environment is genuinely fun! I enjoyed being surrounded by young like-minded people that pushed me to become a better version of myself, while at the same time not feeling like I threw my summer away! There's plenty of activities and events to keep things fresh.

Overall, one of the most fun & productive summers I've had so far.

This job is not for everyone. It is a challenging position where you are hired todo D2D sales selling pest control to homeowners. 

For the right type of person who is looking to  learn and develop their sales skills you can make ALOT of money as its 100% commission. I would not recommend this job if you are lazy and looking for a summer job for the sake of a summer job. 

The company provides you endless training and resources to be successful at the job. At the end of the day it is up to the worker to want to succeed at the job and use these resources to produce sales. 



Amazing experience at Vantage! They teach you the necessary sales skills to succeed and shine. Incredible team spirit + top notch professionalism. Anyone who who wants to challenge themselves into doing something hard, this is the right opportunity. Don't get me wrong, this job isn't for everyone. You need to be super discipline and commited to succeed. You get payed based on your results and not your time. 

I joined Vantage mainly for the pay, but stayed because of the amazing culture around the company and the limitless opportunities they've given me in my very short time with the company! It's a real chance to move forward YEARS in your career if you're ready to put in the hours into it! You'll be surrounded by highly motivated peers and incredible management, making the tough days as little as possible!

I learned so much about sales and myself throughout this job. Its hard for sure but life is hard so it really helped me learn about how I can push myself to make as much as I can. It taught me commitment, working hard and teamwork. I met great people and the managers are super helpful and great.lts just a positive hyped work environment and its definitely worth a shot

The sales team at Vantage is nothing short of amazing, embodying a collaborative spirit that fosters growth and success. The positive culture and challenging work environment continually push me to strive for a better version of myself, making it a truly fulfilling journey.

It was a fun workplace but it might not be worth it if you don’t save enough money before you start, you have to pay for everything apart from housing which includes the transportation costs for working for them, the data you use for work and any other expenses
