The pay is good for the job but you literally are expected to work on weekends. You get punished if you're a harder worker than everyone else. Learned that no matter how hard you work someone will hate you for no reason.
1.Management: Operations manger has favorites and hates people of faith. Supervisors also have favorites and choose who's given extra overtime over anyone else.
2.Workplace culture: Very toxic people purposefully mess with the machines after their shifts to cause the other shift to mess up. Lots of talking behind people's backs.
3.Hardest part of the job: Easiest job ever literally a donkey can do this job the issue is the toxic people. Working on weekends no life. 
4.Most enjoyable: When you're working alone and Christmas break they give gift cards and have a lunch.

a Typical day would be a 12 hr shift on your feet in a hot welding bay doing manual labour. Learned how to operate an overhead crane and forklift but wasn't certified in either. Management was very distant and showed little appreciation. Co-workers were easy to get along with but very lazy and unmotivated. The hardest part of the job was pulling the weight of others who would sleep or just not work and knowing they get paid more than you. The most enjoyable part of the work was being able to listen to music while I worked.

A busy morning work with lots of recurring trouble in production.
I learned some new skills but not rewarding.
Management is transparent and gives bonuses to people. 
Overtime hours are not calculated fairly.
Some people are dishonest, hiding and sleeping on duty.
Gossiping is largely popular.
Working outdoors in winter is terrible and unsafe.
The risk of an accident is high but no hazard pay.
Every day off is a long weekend.
People are friendly and generous.

I spent most my time doing general labor. It was cool to work with all the advanced manufacturing machines. Lots of switching task especially when things are busy which could be stressful at times.  There is a big focus on quality which is good. Management was good too and had bbqs and christmas party for us. The hardest part was seeing some people get laid off in downturn. The best was being able to work lots of OT.

A good pay company, best place to work, unfortunately because of Alberta economy I got laid off.  Management were more concerned on the safety of employee rather than production.

I found my time at Variperm was well spent, safety was number one. I felt that it was great money and had extremely beneficial insights to what I wanted to do with my life. I 100% recommend people work here if you're willing to put in the hours, you could fit in great here. 

The employees have no voice and are made to work in unsafe and unhealthy work environments without any appreciation or any consideration to follow or establish safety standards and protocol. Lower Management cuts corners and don’t act on behalf of employees.

We make fancy sand filters that go in oil and water wells. They are made of wire of stainless steel and almost look like stiff slinky. Usually busy shop with lots of machines and pipes. Good work, good group of guys.

Worked for them for over a year and never got a raise. 
Also between management and supervisor too lead hands nobody knows what nor how todo. The job. 

Also worked by myself which is a no. No.  Lol. 

This place is just horrible 


Its a company you love to work with. Great work, great learning. You have great mentors to guide you. Strong focus on continual improvement of manufacturing and quality process. Safety first mentality is very important here.
