Monitoring vendor performance.

Do not work here if you want a career. Terribly managed from the CEO to the middle manager you report to. People don't quit bad companies they quit bad managers. Laying people off every year, by people who have no idea who does what in the company. Stressful environment with no job security or chance at advancement. You could work their for years and years and get walked out the door one day, just laid off with no severance  or appreciation for what you have done for them.

positive corporate culture; and very multi-cultural with more of a big city feel in a smaller more commuter friendly setting (the Saskatoon manufacturing plant).

mix of legacy and new products for the global market keeps things interesting and affords opportunities to move from one line to another if desired.

The management has little to no clue how to improve the quality of the product and get quality prodcut out the door quickly.  Way way too much product rework.  To many new products being developed while the existing ones in production have to be continuously reworkded.  Dependency on overseas suppliers and the associated problens will increase over time.

Although I was laid off from working at Vecima, I did enjoy my work there.
It is a place where true multi-culturalism does exist. I did not see the picture of what management was up against but did feel that management could have done a better job and could still be doing a better job promoting of products being built.
Rnd was slow than I believe they should be but bare in mind I was not privy to all information for this to be an accurate observation.

Management pro-actively ensures employees are fairly compensated. Software developers work remotely using flexible hours on 5-8 person in distributed teams. Agile teams have authority to improve processes and work collaboratively with knowledgeable product owners, software architects, and support teams. The technology learning curve is quite steep and requires many months of effort to feel competent.

You can not trust the Management at the Telematics Division especially the OPS department. People come and go! Guess why? 

Super uncomfortable environment created by the Manager, some people are nice and friendly, but they too dream to leave because of the Manager. 

During the interview ask how many people occupied this position during the last 3-4 years. You would be surprised on the number if they would tell you the truth.

I loved working here. Everyday there was something new and exciting to do and learn. I had never thought that I would ever do something so cool as learning how to solder components onto circuit boards and even learn how to run tests on them. The management and staff are awesome to work with , they are so helpful. Their HR department is awesome, they are so easy to talk too and also so helpful.

Pay is low , rest all benefits are fine. 
Great culture ,  flexible hours , benefits are also good. 
This role has more stress & less staff and responsible for different kind of hardware installation and configuration(not only Unix and networking). so much scope to learn if you work here for more than 6 months in this team.

Management did its best to help and encourage its workers.
Upper Management seems to have lost its way. There is no clear direction and from my perspective, the company is having problems  where department heads are trying to protect there positions and bonuses rather than address issues related to product development.
