Veras Burger Shack

This was such a great job, mainly because I just love food. This experience was exceptional because it allowed me to advance more then any other job. Before leaving Vancouver, I was the supervisor of three separate locations, balancing life and work was difficult but this job was rewarding in experience. Before I left I was offered to become manager at one of there locations, which I respectfully declined to attend college.

I learned how to effectively multitask here as well as how to deal with customers, which can be troublesome sometimes. On the plus side, I got to meet many people from different backgrounds as this premise is located in touristic area. The down side is the lazy manager who just sits down and play with his cell instead of helping us during the rush hour, he sometimes came late too.

Co-workers are great and they make the shop fun-loving and interesting. Management needs improvement but it depends on location of shop. Little to no job security as it depends on the success of the store. Salary and benefits depends on job position. Overall, great for a short-term job!

A typical day at work was a fast paced environment, I usually greeted customers first with a friendly "Hello, welcome to Vera's Burger Shack". Then after that I would take there order, and sometimes I even used to give the food to the customers at there table. I learned to work fast and too give the customers good service.

Vera's burger shack was a good first job for me. The bi-weekly pay was nice as were the tips. People were friendly and the food was good. Cons were that I never received proper training, and the work environment changed a lot when the person who employed me left the company.

Morning shifts start with 1-3 hours of prep, then typically work until the big rush hours of the day(12 pm, 6 pm).

Hardest part about the job would be dealing with management and cleanups

Vera's burger shack is a great place to gain experience in the food industry and customer relations. The workers are all very friendly and are super helpful to anyone who is just starting out.

unorganized and greasy but some chill coworkers. the owner is super nice but has really bad character judgement and so there have been some weirdos working there since ive been there

It was an alright place to work at. You will smell burgers a lot if you think of working there. Hence they are a burger shack. You will get tips. You will get food while you work.

Staff is super friendly, burgers are delicious, and the place is very clean. The work environment is very inviting. All employees are really friendly and helpful.
