My experience as Verizon Wireless has been a challenging but a success once I adapted and grew in sales trainings. When you first start it might seem a little intimidating but the mistakes you make and the sales you don't make really offer you a valuable lesson on what you can do different. You will learn that this company will properly train and give you all the tools necessary to do well and make money. There training is by far the best in the Industry, giving the reason why there should be no reason why a representative can't do well. I have ;I have learned and acquired many sales techniques and concepts through aggresisive device training and sales workshops that I will take on with me to all my career paths. This company will compensate you at your hardwork but you really have to earn it. The leadership management team becomes like a familiy member you don't want to dissapoint when it comes to making sales. They will take care of you along with other reps in sales and you learn to sell as an individual but depend on a team at the same time.

I always like Putting on practice my abilities to accomplish my duties in the best way as possible; I’m an open minded person, I like challenges, and I can handle myself working under pressure, I like to work for developing my skills as a student, worker, and human being, through the hard work and dedication; learning new experiences always with the best attitude, I love meeting new places and its people which is very exciting for me, and having the opportunity to travel and work abroad will open a world of possibilities that I would really like to get to experience.

A typical day at Verizon I would answer telephone calls from Customers and advice them of the progress of their rebates.
I learned to be patient in dealing with customers who were perturbed because their checks were not mailed to them. I also learned about rebates.
my co workers were friendly and easy to work with.
the hardest part of the job was trying to get the irate customers to calm down.
The most enjoyable part job was answering the phones not knowing who was on the other end of the line.

Verizon Canada was a great place to work for and in the past 20+ years I learnt a lot. Moved from Accounting to Sales learning all about the Internet business world, contracting pricing etc. the Staff were very friendly and it was a great atmosphere to come to work everyday.

Benefits were good and I like the fact we could work from home of and on.

Not sure about other departments, but in IT, it was normally an 80 hour week.  Always being pushed to do more with no time to do it.  Once was told in a team setting by the VP that you can train yourself to get by with 3 hours of sleep a night.  That nugget of knowledge was bestowed to "encourage" us to work even more hours.

Stayed as long as I did because of the people, pay and benefits.  But at some point, that loses its appeal when you lose yourself.

This was an amazing experience. In buffalo new York there was a job fair that attended right out of high school. I applied and was hired, the catch, It was across the border in Canada. I took the opportunity to experience a different country. I sold cell phone plans in store and did extremely well, but unfortunately my work visa got hung up and I returned back to Buffalo. This job made me discover my selling techniques and friendships.

US management is obsessed with what their margins were relative to the expectations of '"the Street" (their favourite saying).  Local upper management will collude with each other for their own protection and do not hesitate to throw you under the bus to appease their American bosses.  Don't think the long hours you put in to meet your deadlines will save you from being let go.  US management is dismissive of local concerns. 

As a sales executive there was no concrete and defined sales strategy for the global sales department to execute on. The strategy rather was left up to each individual sales executive in their territory. 

Verizon hired very talented and intelligent people but failed to utilize them properly. 

Products and services were often not what the market was looking for.

Very Risky to your Emotional Health.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very Bad, Very disorganized place to work.

Verizon wireless, was great place to work in with friendly staff members. It was very busy with more than 10 telephone lines and over 100 employees. I learnt to multi-task and be accurate at the same time. The hardest part of the job as receptionist was to memorize names for over 100 people. I enjoyed the multicultural and non- judgemental environment.
