What is the best part of working at the company?
I really enjoy spending time with the Seniors I care for at the hospital .  They are a lot of fun, are grateful for the  care they receive.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of support.  Minimal education regarding new programs, changes in approaches regarding care, Staff reporting to team lead regarding approaches they believe are not being taken care of properly.  Rather than education, those in charge consider staff member guilty until proven innocent.  This produces stress and worry in an already stressful position environment.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Lately , there has been a lot of tension.  Staff encouraged to report other staff members and to report anything that feels the slightest bit 
uncomfortable.  Lots of false reporting.  Guilty until proven innocent,  This tends to build a lack of trust and causes time wasted that could have been used 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Each unit functions a little differently,  The one I was on included report in the morning, breakfast for clients once they are washed and dressed for the day.  
Nice patio for good weather days,  staff and clients have time outside.  Lunch, activities that sometimes are able to happen.  Visitors in and out.

They have a huge turnover of administrative staff for patient intake.  Not because of the patients but because the ladies with permanent positions during the day treat their casuals badly.  You would think they would appreciate those who let them have vacations and days off but some are very immature and unprofessional.  Further, you can not survive on the wages.  After union dues etc, it works out to below minimum wage.  Also, it is impossible to get a reference as there are so many questions they ask potential employers that instead of responding, the potential employer just asks for an older reference.  

Expect work load to increase due to expansions and job cut backs with no pay increase. Mostly rotating shifts (5/3, 5,2) for full timers. Union dues, parking and other deductions really add up for a smaller pay cheque. Employee recognition is not in the budget along with many other things not being in the budget. Unionised, don't expect wage increases, but decreases. Be a hard worker or be a horrible worker, you're not going to get promoted nor demoted or fired. Decent paying go nowhere job. Top heavy with plenty of highly paid management.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Was there as a casual for housekeeping and they always had shifts for me.
All the supervisors are really nice and understanding.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The Emerge was a stressful place and fast paste but I always had help

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Nice people. Even the doctors and nurses are really nice

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get there. Go to daily meetings before start of shift and then go where we were assigned to clean or help

After being involved with many departments, I have seen and found many ladies are rude and create drama, and treat coworkers unprofessionally.
The low level management is terrible as well, they don't do much except boost their own "bonuses" . As they all get one if they come in under budget!  I have never seen such catty women in action in all my life. 
Yet; the nurses do their jobs very well. I would like to see some action taken against the low level minions.

Inventory was checked to ensure all departments had their medical supplies each day.
Budgets were continually considered along with quality of items for different situations.
Vendors were always communicative with new and improved items at great costs for the good of medicine.
Very medically qualified buyers and clerical staff.

It is an extremely high paced and demanding job.  I thrive in pressure situations where I have to think on my feet. The job requires that I multi-task and prioritize my duties on a continual basis.  I enjoy working in a team environment with patients, doctors, nurses, porters, and many other health care professionals.

What is the best part of working at the company?
As a housekeeper, cleaner It was a fun experience. Would do it again maybe!

The scheduling was a challenge

It was clean and healthy environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I had to learn different tasks for each floor

ALL of the staff are amazing - from the housekeepers and food service workers to the nurses and physicians! I am constantly learning new things during each shift I work. There are several units in the hospital for care aides to work and there is a lot of variety in what you do. I always leave the shift feeling like I made a difference and that I am appreciated. 

* Take all the shifts that you can during the summer and spring, because fall and winter are very slow months and not many available shifts.
