you work with a variety of individuals for potentially months at a time, which can be both good or bad. Management is aware of this, a give opportunity to change it up if requested. I learned to work with difficult people, and realized working with me was not always a day at the beach. Management was fair, friendly and concerned with employee well being. Safety forward culture with continued training throughout the year. Hardest part of the job was having to stay late at the last moment. The opportunity to advance and learn was the best part of the job.

Vestas, the King of telling you 'Safety First' while putting safety on the back burner when it comes down to time crunches and budgets. Every site has different rules, every manager enforces those rules differently and every site is treated differently by upper management. What one manager tells you to do now will get you fired later. 

Vestas is a stepping stone to better wind turbine companies out there. What was once one of the best companies to work for, is now one of the worst. If you're looking for experience look no further, if you're looking for a stable job don't waste your time, Vestas isn't what it used to be. The longer you stay, the further behind in your career you will get. 

I was given an already behind schedule project with an already very angry customer. When I asked for help or support they instead gave me more projects to manage distant time zones all at same time . When I again signalled an issue they then gave me an employee review with ore reports and hoops to jump through. Never got help, just got blamed and dumped more projects. If I was doing an unsatisfactory job then why add more work? Made absolutely no sense - I felt set up to fail quite honestly and although colleagues were fantastic, management nice, support was below zero.

What is the best part of working at the company?
This company has systems that are actually used and understood by the technicians who have a very low risk tolerance. I highly recommend their management team for supporting field level culture.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Zero stress and time to allocate initiatives

Vestas is a great company that provides fair pay and great benefits. Plenty of roles require travel and the time off rotation for travel positions needs to be adjusted as it is one of the worst in the industry at 10-1. The culture and people are great, there are tons of opportunities to grow, learn, advance however many require relocation or travel as mentioned. I would recommend Vestas to anyone looking for a job in wind.

excellent job, training was great, benefits exceptional. you will give up your life if there is an on call contract, and the company is too big to regulate middle management properly leading to difficulties and misunderstandings get out of control. too few employees per site, lengthy training process leading to deadlines becoming unrealistic for contracts. would be an easy fix with an unbiased approach to site planning and work load. 

all that said it is a great company to work for just pay attention to the turn over rate.

Have spent 10+ years with Vestas. Started as Tech I and progressed to Lead / Construction & Service Management. Vestas continues to provide daily challenges & opportunities to further my professional development. There has never been a better time to be in the Wind Industry.

Management will contradict themselves often. 
No acknowledge of actual good work.
They expect you to stay longer hours randomly and then will get upset if you don't. And will give you hard jobs as retaliation.
MICROMANAGEMENT OF EVERYTHING YOU DO.
Did I mention MICROMANAGEMENT?
Pay is not good compared to some other companies. 
Get there, get some experience and jump to another company.

I really like my co-workers and manager, very safety oriented and a good team spirit.   Lots of room for career growth in Quebec.   Pay is good compared to other jobs in the area.   Benefits are good.   Working on older turbines but there are new parks being built and I'm looking forward to working on more modern tech.   Only thing about the company i don't like are the task based certification modules.  Its too slow to advance.   Maybe it will change.....

Like any company, Vestas has their ups and downs. Morale varies from site to site and is typically a direct reflection of management. As a traveling technician I feel I’m adequately compensated, though I’ve heard many opposing opinions from site techs. I’ve heard horror stories of how some techs have been treated but personally I have been treated well thus 
far. Just like any company, it is what you make of it.
