A very informative work place, teamwork is excellent,proper training and ongoing information sessions provided. Management is always supporting psw workers ensuring their safety and the safety of the clients. Informing staff of any changes to health care plans and upcoming events offered. MVP programs are available. Praise is always given from our adminustrated staff. My work day is very rewarding knowing the care was given to the best of my abilities and my clients are great individuals and thankfull for our services

This place has done nothing but ruin my mental health. The work culture in the office is extremely toxic and advancement/growth is based on connections/personal relationships, rather than actual skill and ability. You are basically thrown into the position from the poor training class, and put up with a lot of absolute trash coming at you from all angles at every second of every day. My training class was only 4 months ago, there has already been another since, and management is now talking about starting another one - this alone is a demonstration of how they cannot keep staff due to poor working conditions. 

Management really needs to be re-evaluated. My mental health was the worst it’d ever been due to my supervisor never knowing what they’re talking about in relation to clients, workers, overall concept of the program I was working in and THEY were in charge of. Gaslighting is frequent. Always short staffed so constantly have to be working on rescheduling frustrated clients. Very stressful

•	Provided in-home care to families with terminally ill and disabled family members.
•	Analyzed clinical collaborative practice agreements. 
•	Carried out health assessments of patients. 
•	Managed therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. 
•	Prescribed medical regimes and handled plans of care. 
•	Coordinated in team meetings and conferences. 
•	Aided as resource to staff and enforced educational programs.

I have been working as a Heath Care Tech in VON for 3 years now. I love working with palliative patients. There is always some learning seeing patients with different diagnoses. Management is professional, they listen to your concerns and follow up. They are supportive. Colleagues are absolutely amazing as well.

I didn't received a salary at VON because I was a volunteer. Staff were nice and learned a lot in the day program activities. I had fun dealing with seniors at day program. There were lots of games for seniors that make them more effective and had more freedom by making them more active everyday. By dealing with other elderly with the adult day program.

VON is dedicated care, but is too focused on getting too many visits in per day as opposed to giving amount of time needed, especially for complex care.
Management is somewhat supportive, but if you don't drive like a maniac between clients then it's a lost cause working there.

The management is absolutely amazing and genuine. Great work life balance and truly treated like a human being not a number. 

Many times I've had to call in to stay home with my sick children, and I am able to schedule/reschedule my work day solely by contacting my own clients then notifying my employer. 

Feels like you are your own manager, it's absolutely fantastic and a very trusting place to work.

Shift nurses do not exist to the company,  ignored by managment. No guruntee of hours whether full-time or partime, if a client is sick in hospital or canceled you are out a shift and management could care less. Somwtimes iwnts can Benin hospital for weeks at a time, even though we are scheduled to work with them, we do not get paid or compensated. They do not let shift nurses do visiting or take part in training opportunities. 

In 12 months we have lost most of our team because of the new manager and the lack of skills that manager has and availability the manager has for urgent matters.  You are over worked in your schedule and when you try to reach a csa in the office there isnt one because they have all quit because of the manager does not have time for anything and does not know how to manage their team.
