Good Monday morning, I would sift through invitations, get current progress reports and fill my calender for the week.
I have learned to problem solve and and provide the best possible service to the customer.
Pleasing the customer and having a profitable project pleases management, the worker gets noticed and future projects are closer.
Co-workers have to be treated with tre respect that they deserve because your working future depends on them. They are the people you depend on when ever in doubt.
The hardest part of the job was getting to and from appointments in this congested Greater Toronto and surrounding area.

The most enjoyable part of the job was pleasing the customer, and management.

I have been with Viking Fire for nearly 10 years and there are a lot of long-term employees. I think this says a lot about the company. We have an inclusive, team-culture. We work hard but enjoy social activities together through the year so there is a good balance. With offices across Canada there are opportunities for re-locating and many opportunities to learn and grow within the company. The Fire Protection industry is very interesting and a well kept secret. Most people working in it only knew about it because they knew someone working in the industry. Viking is definitely a leader and is on AON's Best Employer list which was based on anonymous employee surveys. I wouldn't be here still if I didn't believe in this 5 star review.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Got the odd lunch paid for by boss. Is was uncommon but did happen time to time.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No coordination between colleagues. Projects managed would require specific technical representatives contractually which would not be provided to the project from upper management ultimately forced upward management conflicts.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The office was empty 90% of the time, no one was around to have culture.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Come into work, spend 8hrs at my desk wearing multiple hats in the absence of a team

The company has a great environment for a kick-off to the industry, that you are here to learn.

As well, Viking offers 37.5 hours per week, all colleagues are friendly and respectful towards work-life balance. I have not met any supervisors or managers who showed attitude or disagreement on taking a day off or leave for a couple hours for personal schedules. 

However, if you are an office person, you really shouldn't expect good pay. It's a trade-off for the such environment. Work can be busy and slow occasionally.  

Management was really unprofessional and unexperienced. I found the lower level management was the worst and would constantly sabotage each other's reputations or create huge problems out of doing just what they are supposed to do. There is a real entitled culture with office staff across country and lack of ethics. I wasn't there long but it seems that no one knows what they are doing except the technicians who I found to be personable and skilled.

Amazing company. Employee focused. Promotes both personal and career growth. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It can be fast paced. But flip side is everyday is an adventure 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Awesome team based culture. Not only branch based but team focused at a national level

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lighthearted. Every day is an adventure

Coworkers are fun to work with, as well as being both knowledgeable and excellent in the field. You'll work with a dream team group of people

Management needs serious improvements. Both upper and lower management have a tendency to put blame on everyone but themselves when something goes wrong in order to keep the pride and ego in check. They don't listen to constructive criticism, nor any other sides to the story when it comes to resolving issues. 

Viking Fire Protection has improved my knowledge of the fire protection industry. The team members you work with are welcoming and supportive. In addition, you are constantly meeting people in the industry that are always willing to help you improve as a person and as an employer.

Having the opportunity to work with the Ottawa Vikings team will allow you to experience first-class, and amazing management from our boss and supervisors. 

Slow paced, many management issues, other companies pay more. 

Kind of got led on with this position, hardly ever anything to do and when there is the pacing is very slow. Lots of time sitting in the office waiting for something to happen. 

No challenge, not a good position for a young guy, recommend to an old man perhaps. The entire staff is 10+ years older on average. Hardest job is to stay awake. Enjoyable part is the rare occasion when there is work to do.

The company expects the best from its employees including commitment to work, motivation and productivity but at the same time it values family and work life balance. It provides many opportunities through outings, dinners and contests for the employees from different departments and their families to get together.
