Villa Forum Long Term Care

I had the pleasure of being hired part time at Villa forum this spring into  summer and I have to say it’s the best retirement home I have ever visited/worked at. And I have worked at several in the past.
 I was temporarily laid off from my main career and I must say it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. The staff,  at every level,  are very caring and you can tell they take pride in meeting the residents needs. Providing  personalized care for individual needs. The administration is super organized and they’re very meticulous in their hiring process,  training and  emergency procedures are reviewed regularly as well. The cleaners are so professional I thought they were nurses!!! 
The property is impeccably maintained,  the activities are always new and exciting,  even despite the challenging covid circumstances an effort was made to keep the residents occupied with books, hobbies and music therapy which they realy seem to enjoy! Efforts were made to keep residents connected to their families via FaceTime calls! And once outdoor visits were allowed, every effort was made to maximize the visiting times. Also the opportunity to get outside for fresh air were provided frequently! The varied multicolored garden flowers outside & potted plants on the terraces bring a lot of joy to the residents 
They are served freshly made espresso, juices teas and special condensed beverages and freshly made  waffles or bruschetta and other home made snacks in the afternoons! On site nurses , PSWs and RSAs ake great pride in ensuring everyone’s individual needs are met. 
Prayer times, exercise routines, spa like bath times. 
It is obvious that Villa forum is directed with a heart for the people who live there, they are Greeted and treated like family members!! 
I met many lovely residents and hope to return to work there part time next summer as I miss them  as well as many of my wonderful temporary colleagues, dearly! 
It was truly a heart warming experience all around, despite the very trying And unprecedented circumstances, the care and class of the staff were heart warming and very much appreciated by the residents and their families. Forum Strong Indeed ❤️


What I love about Villa Forum is the attention to detail and excellence in care services. Everyone is encouraged to provide Holistic care for residents. Staff are provided education sessions for Policy updates and MOH updates. The staff are also appreciated by the management team for their little victories. Our piazza area transforms into different sceneries depending on which season or Holiday we are celebrating. Villa Forum is an excellent place we can call "Home away from Home."

Horrible management system. They just throw you into the job and expect you to know how to do things. Poorly organized and visitors are complaining but they won't do anything about it. People don't seem to want to work here. I was getting comfortable with the job, but I hated the job that I purposefully gave them a reason to fire me. Avoid this place at all costs as an employee and resident. I've seen them yell at visitors for no odd reason and had to listen to the visitor complain about them afterwards

Poor work culture + toxic management = Villa Forum LTC. They attempt to give off an air of helpfulness and employee satisfaction when in fact they use this to lure in staff. They treat staff poorly and as such between the lack of morale, coddling of poor behavior from family members and below average pay, staff often don’t show for their shift. Count on management to offer pizza to soothe short staffed  worries, telling you a lovely story of reimbursement that you may not see...Just run...

Management is unsupportive and administrator treats u like nothing for no reason,short staffed,staff does not show up for shift,very rude families which are supported by management over staff,instead of working on floor nurses spend majority of time with doc giving written statements ,they dont care if u stay 3-4 hours after ur shift is finished.Run from this place and never come back.administration  will never give you  a reference.

CONS:
NO benefits unless perm Fulltime ( which is a few employees)

Always short staff. So expect a call to come into work everyday. Gets annoying being called 100 times on your days off. 

Management can be unorganized
 
Staff doesn't have much say in anything even though we are doing the direct care with the residents.

I learned that no matter how hard the work is as long as you put your heart in your work serving elderly in the most caring way you give them the enjoyable part in their lives that even the absence of their family members they still treasure the last moments of their lives because they are cared for in a special way.

Enjoyable part of the job is working as a team.

Valued quantity over quality. Will hire employees then terminate them before the probationary period is finished so they don't have to give a just cause or provide benefits. Worked for two months and did not receive a company log in which leads me to believe they never intended to keep me past the probation period from the beginning.

I worked here for 1 month. Go through orientation and was thrown into the deep end as a new nurse. Several years later, I have trauma and anxiety from this place. Staff don’t help and are rude when asking for help. I went home crying almost everyday until I just quit. Terrible people working there
