I had a great 7 years at the City of Longueuil, accumulated a lot of useful experience and career-building skills like PR - with a great salary to boot.

However, after summer is over (a short 9 weeks), the indoor pool hours were few and far between. Senior employees tend to hog all available hours and the job opportunities are scarce. 

Management was competent to a certain degree but tended to lack resources and organizational skills. 

Overall I would recommend this job for the life experiences I gained and camaraderie between colleagues. I made many friends which I kept to this day.

Very nice place to work at. Professional environment.

Sometimes meeting the timelines was challenging

Very good and professional place to work at. I enjoyed it very much.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Early start, overall busy day with professional people

During my years as a lifeguard, i really evolved in my position, I occupied different role as lifeguard, swimming teacher, manager of a public pool, etc. I learned how to structure and organise the work for the other employees and myself. 
Being a lifeguard made me learn about managing hard and unexpected situations.

Everybody is talking behind everybody's back like it's a schoolyard for kid's. Some permanent's litarely do anything they want, like drive around all day long and talk.

task day to day are similar. very simple to operate and bosses easily accessible in case of change. very autonomous in the work environment most of the time but sometimes necessary to work in teams

I really enjoyed my time at Hôtel de la ville de Longueuil, but personally, it's not really my type of job. One of the most enjoyable part of the job was the kindness of the employees.

Great management and wonderful group of people to work with. Very challenging job as a police officer and loved working on major cases and events with group of dedicated individuals.

Go to work, operate machinery, that is pretty much it.
I learned to operate machinery. 
Management is interesting.
Workplace culture is not good.
Hardest part is to comply with nonsense.

It is fun to work with a bunch of students that like working with kids. We get to choose our schedule and usually get the hours we want. Suits well for students
